Hilton Garden Inn Secaucus/Meadowlands

We chose this hotel in pet for the pool. Pool was closed due to high bacteria levels and when we approached front desk staff, they were defensive and invalidating. When we mentioned the television not working due to. Glitchy service, the manager was equally defensive and lied about it being due to the wind and affecting the entire hotel. We had family in other rooms and knew this was not the case. Carpets dirty, moldy vent in bathroom. Overall not returning to the hotel.

I reserved a baby crib, I took the time to write a message to the hotel. When I arrived, no baby crib was available.

The indoor pool was not open and that was one of the main reasons I booked this hotel since they have an indoor pool. Now my children are not happy since they cannot go swimming. Then as soon as we arrived the staff first told me my service animal was not allowed in the room due to his breed. I told them that’s discrimination and they called an had my service dog approved from another manager. That should’ve never happened on the first place and I have never had any problems with any other hotel before regarding my service animal.

Liked that it had an adjacent parking garage, and really great staff. Didn't like the small seating area for breakfast, which was crowded. So, we had to wait 20 min for seats, then offered to sit over in the lobby. Also, our shower handle was broken, so the water temp would go back & forth between scalding hot and super cold. Unfortunately we were there when the fire alarm accidentally went off around 11pm. This was especially a nuisance since my young kids were woken up by blaring alarms. Not knowing if it was real or not, we did grab a bunch of things and headed to our car. I will say that the staff on duty did the best they could with the situation, and we just had to wait til everything was cleared by the fire dept and police.

Great plans to stay. Would do it agian. Friendly and helpful stuff. Clean and comfortable rooms. Great location for us seeing family, shopping and sightseeing
