The Westin Jersey City Newport

We wanted a hotel with a pool for the kids and convenient to transportation. Hotel worked out perfectly for us and my family really enjoyed our stay.

This is a dated property. The standard king room was large and well-appointed, however it looked somewhat older. The bathroom in particular could use a refresh. The hotel has an indoor pool and a fitness center, which is a great feature. The hotel is conveniently located a 2-minute walk from the Path train service to New York, a short walk to a shopping mall and several other options. The biggest letdown was the level of noise on the floor. There were people staying in nearby rooms who seemingly were not used to staying in hotels or aware that there were other guests present. Loud conversations in the hallways at 3 o'clock in the morning, kids running around and screaming in the hallway and in the room next door until 11 o'clock at night, doors slamming. It was very difficult to get a good night's sleep. For those who want a quieter hotel experience, I definitely recommend booking elsewhere.

Great place to stay. My family of 5 shared two rooms. Very comfortable and quiet accommodations. Classy staff. Quick walk to PATH nearby which provides convenient access to Manhattan.
