Jetty Motel

We like the west side of Cape May with all the natural areas. This motel is right next to these areas so we could just walk to them. The motel rooms are set up very well. We liked the table and 2 chairs instead of a desk and 1 chair. The bathroom had extra towels in it. Our only complaint is that the pillows were the consistency of sandbags. But we were still able to get a good night of sleep. I have already recommended this hotel to friends and family.

The one attraction of this property is the location. You can’t beat it. It’s so close to the cove and such a beautiful beach. But, if you decide to stay, do so with low expectations in terms of accommodations. We are not picky and weren’t expecting much, but the rooms were very small, smelled terribly musty, (we kept our suitcases in the car, so our things wouldn’t smell) and the decor was seriously outdated. It looked like the rooms hadn’t been remodeled since the 70’s. The pool closed at 6 PM on a hot, holiday weekend, which was a bit inconvenient. Checkout was firm, we get that, but guests were told access to facilities like the pool & parking lot were denied same day beyond checkout. That seemed a bit unreasonable considering the rather pricey rate & what is typically customary. It’s family run & the staff we encountered seemed pleasant enough, but before we even checked out, housekeeping had placed blankets and sheets on the plastic chairs outside our door before 10 AM, though checkout was at 11, to prepare for next guests in a clear signal to vacate ASAP. It was a little disconcerting to think our sheets & blanket likely sat outside on dirty chairs before being placed on our bed prior to arrival. We wouldn’t consider staying here again, despite the great location. This review likely won’t matter, because there are few other options at this location, so they can continue to charge resort prices for dated, substandard accommodations. If you stay, enjoy the beach.

Excellent staff. Very clean room in a quiet location. Superb view next to the beach. Great family-owned business.
