Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Springfield North

Another nice stay at Fairfield Inn & Suites. This is the second year in a row we have stayed after attending a Springfiled Redbird baseball game. Hotel is always clean and quiet, even though they were busy. Our grandchildren love staying here.

I did not like the staff lying to me about the HVAC system being old and that they had to control the thermostat from their computer inside a control room . Now does that make sense? Yes you heard it right . There was a heavyset female that told me I would have to call down to the lobby anytime I needed them to turn my air up or down because their computerized hvac system was old . It looked modern to me, in fact it seemed to be a really high tech system . However, I did get the name of a gentleman (Blake) and he actually told me the system wasn’t old and they put the system on standby from their computer when the room isn’t in use and that he would give me access to control my own air. Well the problem with that was, the system seemed to be on a timer because I woke up to a 66 degree room when I set the room temp to 75 degrees before I went to bed. This must be their default setting because that was the same temp when my family and I checked into the room . The room was freezing and my children woke up with coughs the next morning . I’ve stayed on this property several times and never had this issue . For the heavyset girl to tell me the system was broken and that she would call the HVAC guy before leaving her shift and never doing it was beyond egregious. It sounds like this was something that management designed for the hotel to save money, which the employees used to abuse the guest that were staying there and not allowing them to control their own air. Absolutely poor!

Checking is was super easy knew they would need a card on file even though paid in full online but was not aware it would charge another $20. Staff was super nice! Got to the room and it was nice and clean until we pulled out the couch bed! Looked almost like previous guest let kids on it with shoes and there was mud and dirt all over the mattress topper! Tried calling the front desk 3 times and got busy tone. Sent my son down to talk to someone and they sent housekeeping up right away and she changed the mattress topper and even made the bed for us! Very nice lady and she was very apologetic! Got settle went to the pool which was rather small. 6 kids were in there and it seemed like a lot! Left after about 45 mins. Loved that everything was so close! Came back and went back to the pool around 9:15 had it all to ourselves. Two kids much better. Other guest had left trash all over the one table and towels all over the floor and there were no more towels to dry off with. Check out isn’t until 12 PM but we will be out by 7 AM so won’t be able to review breakfast but hopefully check out is smooth as well!

Really nice hotel, clear rooms and pool. Very friendly and nice employees. Allowed us to check in earlier , which was amazing with little kids after 10hr drive

This was our 3rd visit. Very spacious suite and great for a family of 5. The pool is very nice and clean. Kids love it.The room is clean. The beds are very comfortable. Could have used more towels. Only one wash cloth, 2 bath towels and 2 hand towels for 5 people. Will stay again.

Room very clean, staff friendly but limited in knowledge of places of decent family restaurants. Traffic noise noticeable.

The hotel was clean and well maintained. We got a junior suite which was spacious and comfortable, and the staff we interacted with were all very friendly.
