Gulf Hills Hotel and Retreat on the Water

Gulf Hills was the perfect spot for a weekend away for our anniversary / babymoon. The hotel is so beautifully renovated, the bedding was so comfortable, the pool area & bar/lounge were so fun, and there were so many great shops & restaurants just about a 5 minute drive away in downtown Ocean Springs. Loved our stay!

The area felt secluded but not too far from the city. The resort was beautiful and relaxing. My family will surely return.

This hotel was pretty but the service and cleanliness were trash. They sent us to two different rooms that were not clean then had no one to help at the desk. Waited for awhile then finally another clerk assisting form another property tried to help us. They set her up for failure with dirty rooms, no housekeeping, and no staff. I also had booked a king room and was not given one. This clerk ended up cleaning our room herself. Delays everywhere…and I get that things happen but come on. Beds were not comfortable at all, the only thing worthwhile about this hotel was the one clerk and the drinks at the bar. All the renovations in the world do nothing if your service sucks. Also there were children running everywhere due to this also being the clubhouse for the gold community….lackluster at best

We came in late at almost midnight & the staff was having difficulty logging in but they went out of their way to make sure we got a room & didn’t have any problems. We loved the back area, especially the ping pong table. We can not wait to go back & will definitely stay at the Gulf Hills Resort again. We’ve already recommended them to our friends & family

A lovely historic hotel in a beautiful setting. Owner was cordial and helpful as were all employees. Currently being renovated but it will be fantastic when they finish this process. The pool area is exceptional and complete with comfortable and beautiful seating/ lounging. Lots of yard games nearby makes it a wonderful place for family and friends to gather. We will stay again!

We love staying at the Gulf Hills hotel. Its the perfect place for the family or a couples get away.

No information in the room about local places to eat or WiFi password, or really anything at all- except the customary Bible in the drawer and a TV from 1910 with a laminated sheet of basic channels. No phone in the room so ended up having to walk back down to the front desk to ask. Had no idea initially where the room was, where the pool was, what the hours were, etc. I was by myself with two children and it would have been nice to be directed to the room since the doors open up to outside and ours was in the back. We really just slept and left. Room was VERY clean and even though outdated, was well cared for, had toiletries. AC worked fine. Walls are paper thin but we had neighbors who at least went to bed by 10, otherwise you would have to listen to every step and toilet flush. Farrrrr from the beach and the view is the parking lot with some kind of service truck. All in all, it reminded me of The Shining, but Deep South style.

Very pleasant, relaxing, and clean! Very good night's sleep. It would be nice to have a bedside table on both sides of each bed; and the bedside lamps would be better with a warmer/yellower light more conducive to winding down at night; and some family members had only decaffeinated coffee pods with the in-room coffeemaker. But all staff were friendly, coffee was good, and overall the room was great!
