Gulf Hills Hotel and Retreat on the Water

Had a great stay at Gulf Hills.. we have stayed here multiple times over the past 15 years…. Hotel is beautifully remodeled. All staff at front desk were pleasant and made sure our stay was enjoyable. Enjoyed the new bar on site. We have booked again for next year … our 25th wedding anniversary.. Want to give a special thanks to the hotel for sending a beautiful flower arrangement to the family of our dear friend, Hershel.. We met him at Gulf Hills on one of our stays there for Cruisin the coast approx 10 + years ago and has enjoyed his company ever since. We became very good friends outside of CTC….He was supposed to be coming with us this year, but God needed another Angel and took him 2 weeks ago..

Check-in was a breeze, and we were delighted to find that the rooms were recently renovated—everything was clean, and we absolutely loved the decor. Each room has a door that opens directly to the outside. Parking was right outside the rooms and no extra charge. We enjoyed the coffee provided in the room and appreciated the complimentary water in the mini fridge. The lounge and ballroom are both stunning, with the cocktail lounge offering a modern atmosphere and a great selection of drinks. The pool area was spectacular! While the pool is quite deep—perhaps not ideal for our toddler—we still had a fantastic time. The outdoor area is also incredibly photo-worthy. We would definitely stay here again. The prices are excellent, especially considering how close it is to downtown. We’ve stayed at more expensive places in Ocean Springs, but this affordable hotel really impressed us. We look forward to coming back, especially once their restaurant is up and running. Room service would have been a nice addition, but overall, a great experience! There are plenty of wonderful restaurants close by.

Hotel was cute and clean , I loved the bunk beds for the kids in our room. They’re tucked away in a nook and the room was still very sleek and modern . The pool is great. The bar was unfortunately closed during our visit . The staff is very accommodating. The only thing was I think this hotel drove to bedrock city and got their mattresses from Fred flinstone himself because they are literal rocks . My husband and I had a hard time staying asleep.

Outstanding stay. A true gem I wish I’d of known of years ago. Will return with my family.

Gulf Hills was the perfect spot for a weekend away for our anniversary / babymoon. The hotel is so beautifully renovated, the bedding was so comfortable, the pool area & bar/lounge were so fun, and there were so many great shops & restaurants just about a 5 minute drive away in downtown Ocean Springs. Loved our stay!

This hotel was a cute little hidden gem up in Gulf hills. It has 2 floors no elevators which I already knew from reading their website. The lobby was nice and clean, and had a bar. All the front desk employees were nice and friendly. Now for the room, me and my hubby got the king kitchenette with sofa bed and it was very clean, spacious, and the walk in shower was a major plus! There even was cute little dishes and detergent to wash and a microwave, refrigerator, and Keurig in this room. I don't know if it was just because this weekend was a holiday but I loved the fact that this hotel allowed the pool to be open passed the closing time at 9pm! All in all this hotel was great, it's even pet friendly although I didn't travel with my fur babies I saw a lot of travels who had there's. Would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone I know! And we will be back!

The area felt secluded but not too far from the city. The resort was beautiful and relaxing. My family will surely return.

This hotel was pretty but the service and cleanliness were trash. They sent us to two different rooms that were not clean then had no one to help at the desk. Waited for awhile then finally another clerk assisting form another property tried to help us. They set her up for failure with dirty rooms, no housekeeping, and no staff. I also had booked a king room and was not given one. This clerk ended up cleaning our room herself. Delays everywhere…and I get that things happen but come on. Beds were not comfortable at all, the only thing worthwhile about this hotel was the one clerk and the drinks at the bar. All the renovations in the world do nothing if your service sucks. Also there were children running everywhere due to this also being the clubhouse for the gold community….lackluster at best

We came in late at almost midnight & the staff was having difficulty logging in but they went out of their way to make sure we got a room & didn’t have any problems. We loved the back area, especially the ping pong table. We can not wait to go back & will definitely stay at the Gulf Hills Resort again. We’ve already recommended them to our friends & family
