Comfort Suites Southgate

We arrived at 10pm at night off of a flight disaster with 4 tired kids and it was just not what I expected, the pictures do not match this place. There was a drunk guy stumbling through the lobby, there breakfast was definitely a let down, and it just wasn’t what we hoped for from what we saw on Expedia… I would never stay here again.

Hotel was fine, convenient to everywhere I needed to go. My kids enjoyed the pool ! Could use new caulking throughout, especially in bathroom. It needed a good scrubbing. Breakfast was good ! Softest sheets i’ve ever had in a hotel, wish i couldve taken them home with me ! haha

I really enjoy staying here. I have been there for 3 times so far and I always find it meet expectations. If I have my family with me, I always chose this place.

Perfect stop for 2 nights with 3 small children. They loved the room, pool and the breakfast and happy kids on a road trip are what it’s all about. My wife enjoyed the closeness to the Interstate and there are restaurants and a mall nearby. No complaints whatsoever. It was good.

Fun pool for the kids

Customer service was good, especially the breakfast service. I had 2 toddlers with me and they wanted just sausage and just sausage was exactly what they got! Pool was cold, beds were comfortable, mold in the shower, and girls thought the hiding spots in the room were COOL!

The hotel & staff were great! Even though it was no fault to the hotel the inconsiderate people above us were rude! Please when staying at a hotel be respectful of other guests! Especially if you have unruly children!est!

When we arrived we notified the front desk staff that there was some type of food (appeared to be scrambled eggs) all over the hallway floor. She thanked us for letting her know, but then nothing was done about it. The mess was still there the following day and at the time of our checkout! That’s not okay! The other complaint would be the pool hours. One reason we often book hotel stays is so that our kids can play in the pool. We enjoyed the pool for a couple of hours upon check-in, but needed to stop swimming for dinner. When we returned we needed to put our kids to bed and we discovered that the pool would not open until noon the next day! We had to checkout at 11, so that meant not being able to swim at all. The kids were super bummed. While the pool may be a unique need to our family it was definitely off-putting. Aside from the mess in the hallway our room wasn’t the cleanest either. There were greasy handprints on the walls, stains on the bed skirt, and our shower didn’t appear very clean. While the price was fair, we still expect to find our room and the hotel clean and I would say this stay left a lot to be desired.

We chose to have our breakfasts in McDonald's (across the street) because the variety and the quality were poor at the Inn. The place was quite and family friendly if this is the only point of interest for you, but for us, we will not choose this place next time. When I asked for a blanket and extra pillow (for the sofa bed) the old lady on the front desk told us that they don't offer this, and when I asked her to elaborate she said that every room has its own number of pillows and blankets and no more can be given, I chose to ask her again like how can a person use the sofa bed without this facility and we booked according to having this sofa bed for that extra person, there and then, the lady said Oh, there is a blanket, a pillow and a sheet for your sofa bed, it is just that she forgot to give them to us!! The rooms' walls need to be cleaned, the finger prints need to be removed, they need to spend some money.
