TownePlace Suites by Marriott Ann Arbor

Staying here was a last minute decision. We wanted to be near family during the Christmas visit. Everything was clean, nicely remodeled, great to have a sink, two burner glass-top stove, toaster, pans, dishwasher, coffeemaker. Everyone was friendly and helpful, especially when we checked in late after a long drive. The holiday spirit was on display and enhanced the stay. This is a Mariott Bonvoy connected property and I hope all TownePlace Suites are like this.

We had expected (our fault) that Suites meant two rooms. In this case it means a full kitchen but only one room. the kitchen was very nice and probably made up for not having a suite in the sense that we believed. Staff were uniformly excellent, accommodating, etc. Free breakfast is always nice and this was good. The Computers available were less than average, in that they routinely were not able to effectively access servers or just logged out for unknown reasons. It is apparent that all the furniture is IKEA or IKEA like. A problem, in particular for anyone with less than adult hand strength (kids/seniors), is moving the various chairs around. Seems like a small thing but it became quite annoying in the room at the computer consoles, at breakfast. the chairs do not have any effect hand hold or bar to enable them to be moved, especially on carpet.
