Hilton Garden Inn Detroit - Southfield, MI

I was hear for a family reunion. The customer service that was provided for the family reunion was great. My complaint was strictly for not having the prober amenities in my room. I had to go downstairs for customer service because the my telephone was not working. Lord forbid if I had an emergency that is a major problem. The front desk admitted that was a problem throughout the hotel. That is a safety issue and perhaps a violation. My other complaint is that the channel guide on my tv was not working. I had to go to each channel to see what program showing very annoying. I complain about this issue as well.

Very nice hotel, remodeled lobby. Rooms are very clean. The pool was a little dirty. There was a lot of people in the pool, but it was still dirty when I got in there. Elevators doesn’t match the rest of the hotel either. It’s the next thing they should remodel. I’ve seen worse but like I said, it just doesn’t match the rest of the hotel. Breakfast also isn’t included, great breakfast but you have to pay $14 for adults, and $7 for children under $6.

Me and my family enjoyed ourselves thank you for your wall services I will come again.

The good: The hotel was very nice. The rooms were very clean – even the hallways smelled nice and fresh! The beds were comfy and the bathrooms were clean. The staff was AWESOME! I didn’t run into a single employee who wasn’t very pleasant and polite. The bad: For some reason someone decided to make the very bad decision to repave the parking lot on a weekend when the hotel seemed to be at full capacity because there was a family reunion there. On Saturday morning they blocked off about ¾ of the parking lot to repave it leaving just a few parking spaces available for all of the guests. We returned to the hotel tired and ready to get some rest only to find ourselves along with about 10-12 other cars circling and circling the small portion of the parking lot that was left hoping and praying that someone would move so that we could park. We ended up having to park all the way in the back of the building in the employee parking which meant my mother who recently had hip replacement surgery had to walk a LONG way to get into the building instead of being able to park in the up close handicapped parking as usual. Overall our stay was nice outside of the parking situation which I found to be very annoying and disrespectful to the guests – especially since they didn’t consider the people who needed handicapped parking.

I truly appreciate the cleanliness. Very important! The room was clean. Smelt clean, linen was fresh. Slept like a baby!

The hotel was convenient, the room was spacious and, except for something smelly and sticky in the bathroom that was missed by the maid, was clean and in good repair. The only problem happened at check-in. I purchased a Bed 'N Breakfast rate. The receipt didn't clearly indicate that a voucher for the family should be issued. It read more like an add for future visit or perhaps 20% off the cost of breakfast. The desk clerk finally agreed to give me the voucher but she was unfamiliar with the [...] pre-paid receipt or the promotion. Someone should review how the promotional rate appears on the [...] receipt.
