Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Ocean City

Overall this is not the place to stay. We checked in with ease but that’s about all. They provided only 2 towels when asking for 2 additional for my children it was a big inconvenience for them. The room had bugs (which is attached with a picture in the review) and smelled like someone had pissed all over the floor. The shower water got warm at best and the bed was probably the hardest mattress I’ve ever slept on.

Hotel was clean and the bed was comfortable. Ended up here because the condo we rented was a dump. I wouldn’t stay here again only because I don’t want to stay out on 50. I would rather stay in town. The pool was always crowded with older kids and adults and people staying at the Shore House which was annoying since we have littles. I also think laundry should be free. The machines need to be serviced as they are full of sand. Continental breakfast is limited and there is only one elevator and it’s very slow.

Staff was friendly. The pool was fantastic for my little ones - we loved the 1 ft level to the 3ft height for my 3 year old learning to swim! The hot tub was a great added bonus!

The room we had was extremely small! (Photos are deceiving). Our room was clean, but the bathtub, it hasn’t been scrubbed in quite so time. Breakfast was only waffles and cold cereal. The staff was extremely pleasurable. The pool was concerning as for a lot of kids and no smell of cholorine.

The room was nice. The bed was reasonably comfortable however even though I'm only 5'9 and it was a king size bed my feet hung off the bottom of the bed. The air-conditioning thermostat only went to 65 degrees. I like it cooler to sleep. The ac fan shut off when it reached temp which woke me up. The walls and ceiling are paper thin. There was a toddler in the room above us and he sounded like a heard of wild horses running around. You could clearly hear the people in the rooms next door. The complimentary breakfast consist of a toaster and waffle maker. Nothing else hot. The shower / bath tub drained very slowly so you were left standing in 4 inches of water. When you consider we paid over $400 for a single night this property fell way below expectations.

Room extremely too small, no reasonable areas in the room to set up laptop to do any work, toilet made for small children not tall adults. Limited or no Wi-Fi access.

Overall, we had a great stay and nothing negative happened that truly reflects the fault of the property and we would stay again! Pros: the pool is so cute. It’s on the smaller side but great if you have kids. There’s a 1ft section which is fun for the little ones. It was clean too and not crowded when we went. The hotel is clean and the front desk staff is very friendly. Shoutout to (I think her name is Veronica) for being awesome. She was telling me how she’d only been there for two months and was loving that she learned something new everyday! She was great. Breakfast was good too. Cons: I would request a room away from the stairs. It was midnight and people were running up and down the stairs and slamming the door. We also were receiving prank calls in the middle of the night and I eventually just unplugged the phone. The overall look of things could use some updating but there was nothing major that stood out other than the very few channels on the tv and the “eh” Wi-Fi. Again - we had a great stay and would be back! I’d consider this property a no frills hotel that meets your basic needs and is great if you don’t need much to be happy and want to be close to the beach without being on the beach. It was a 5 minute drive to the beach for us which was awesome! There are great restaurants in the area as well.
