Lankford Hotel

4 years ago we came down my daughter and her friend and myself. We stayed in the same hotel and I believe I had booked the same room. When we arrived it was a smaller room and no porch/balcony. The room was a quaint little room and definitely homey bedroom feel. I would definitely recommend for a family of 3 or a couple. Only complaint was walls are super thin and you can hear everything.

Amazing place and location perfect for spending time with family and friends

The stay overall was great. The people at the front desk very helpful and polite. My only issue with the trip was this guy who worked for the hotel. He literally stood outside our door waiting for us to check out. Not ok. Asking my kids if we are done yet. It wasn’t 10a yet. Then literally just stood there, arms crossed, staring until we left. We have stayed here before and the owners always let you park in the lot for the day and use the outside showers after you leave the beach. Well this same grumpy guy said, “nope, move your car now.” The old owners, very family oriented and just wanted you to have a great experience. This guy make me really wonder if I will go back. Very unapproachable, looks annoyed at everyone, not very pleasant and literally says the new owners don’t want you to do anything the old owner’s allowed.

The Lankford was our favorite place for YEARS, Mary, Sarah, and their family were great. It’s so sad seeing The Lankford sell and go down hill quickly. Such a shame.

The Lankford is a wonderful early 1900s hotel right on the boardwalk and a few steps away from the beach. The building is charming and has wonderful touches such as classic wood doors, moldings, wood banisters and antique style furniture throughout. The staff was very accommodating during our stay. We had a broken shower head and it was fixed within 20 minutes of notifying maintenance. The rooms are comfortable and spacious and most include a kitchenette with refrigerator, stove, microwave and other accoutrements to help save on eating out. Some things to keep in mind: The building is over 100 years old and is three levels. There is no elevator but we observed the staff helping an elderly guest up the stairs. We received clean towels every day and there was daily trash removal. The fixtures are not modern but are functional. There is no central HVAC so each room has its own A/C unit. Overall, the family enjoyed the stay and we would book at this charming hotel again.

Old fashioned, great place for families and/or single people.

This is an older property, but was well kept and very clean, towels and all amenities were good. Nice and quiet, which is good for families, but still very convenient and on the beach.

The Lankford isn't fancy and doesn't have all the amenities of bigger places (no elevator or in-room cooking facilities, no pool, for example). However it is cozy, comfortable and very clean. And the staff is friendly and will go out of their way to help guests have the best stay. If you're looking for a cozy, friendly family hotel, the Lankford is a great choice.

Owners sent a nice letter explaining the hotel and keeping with their tradition of family. Quiet establishment, without the “party” atmosphere. As described, the rooms were small and very clean. A beautiful front porch overlooking the ocean, free breakfast. A wonderful, quiet escape we were looking for at Ocean City . The staff was friendly, accommodating and always there if needed. We felt safe and secure.

It was a great stay, sheets weren’t clean (make-up stain, and hair) but overall I really enjoyed the stay, beautiful place, and nothing like waking up with the sea right in front of you. Staff is wonderful, loved seeing all the kids working there and just every guest feels very homey and like a family for a bit.
