Castle in the Sand

Nice property, the beach is only a few steps away from it.The pool is nice and big.The property is clean.Staff is great.Restaurant/ bar at the property.Highly recommended and family friendly.A1 thx again!

We stayed in the Waverly which I thought was much better than the other buildings. We had family staying in both. Waverly was much quieter, less people coming and going. Room was clean. Didnt care for the room rugs and outlets didnt work. Nice kitchen set up. The beds were very comfortable. Pool area staff was friendly and attentive. Drinks could have been stronger. Wish it was closer to the boardwalk.Overall a nice place. Would stay again.

From the moment we arrived everything was perfect. Check in at the office was great. The guys at the desk Ie: Mike and MAGIC were terrific and so friendly. Room was clean, great view of the ocean. Restaurant staff so friendly good service, timely, food delicious. Beach service also terrific especially Kylie and Olivia. What a beautiful memory you allowed us to create with our son and his beautiful wife and grand kids. We will definitely being coming back again next year.

The design for the rooms is excellent. I stayed with my family of 5. The room convenience and service was good.

The place was not family friendly. When I complain about the noise the staff said they cannot do anything till 11 PM but for two day the noise was very bad. Staff indicated we can move our room, but it will take over one hour to move our items since it was 9:50, we decide to leave and come back after 11 PM. Some of the bartends at Castle in the Sand need a class on dealing with customer. Staff at the front desk indicated to come during non-peak time in September less noisy.

This was the perfect family get away! We were able to walk out of our room to play in the sand or walk to the beach! We also had the entertainment (and food!) of Coconuts! We absolutely loved it!

Great 4 night stay! 2nd floor cottage apartment for family of 3 Clean, and equipped with the basics; linens and kitchen wares. Pull out sofa in living room for the kiddo- Nice porch area for each unit made for extra relaxing space -Food was decent for lunch- live music 2x a day- it gets crowded at 5pm for the 2for1 drinks. Family movie night was great! Location was great to walk or ride bikes to a few really good restaurants and surf shops- Pros: Friendly staff encounters throughout; housekeeping checked by the unit 2x in the 4- we didn’t need service but we exchanged towels once- also they provided drying rack for towels- Hotel has a great pool and diving board; super close 1/2 block walk to beach access; ample parking and gated access. Hotel beach has rentals for umbrellas; chairs; boogie boards if you don’t have room in the car for it. Cons: Wi-fi didn’t connect- zero service - more outlets needed for charging devices- and Hooks to hang things from inside would be awesome- Noticed ants on countertop in kitchen so we didn’t keep any food out. sun hits the building in the afternoon so keep the AC on while @ happy hour @Coconuts! -Overall it was a great stay and save for a few very minor updates to be made in the future- I’d recommend the apartment cottage rental to a small family or couple who prefer to have of their own space and not feel like they are in a hotel while at the beach. I’d definitely stay again in the future. Thank you for a real good time!

The activities for children are wonderful for the late afternoon time after the beach but before dinner!

Pros: Location. 12 blocks from the north end of the boardwalk. Beach. Not crowded at all. Beds. Comfortable. I slept like a baby. Super quiet. We were on the highest floor (5th) and never heard another guest from inside the room. There was a wild party going on at the other end of the same floor we could hear when in the hallway but not a peep once inside the room. Not sure if our closest neighbor rooms were even used though. Staff. Most staff was very friendly and helpful. Like 99%. Pool. Huge. Cons: Maid service. Had to hang the “maid service please” sign on 2 days and they didn’t get to our room until mid/late afternoon both times. Also, only took out trash and switched towels. On 1 day, didn’t even give hand towels or wash cloths. Never vacuumed which absolutely should’ve been done like other places we’ve stayed. Inside room. Trim in bathroom peeling and all interior is out of date. Coconuts restaurant. I was told I couldn’t use the beach waitresses to deliver non-alcoholic beverages. The girl who sat us when we ate was obviously annoyed of anyone being present. She was not the norm from the rest of the staff. Food was nowhere near the caliber of other places we ate. Movie night. The website doesn’t give a true depiction of the screen. The screen is the side of the building but due to the architecture, the forms of the building were in the way. 1 Elevator. We had to wait for a particular staff member, multi times to go from 1 to 2 w/ nothing to do. He just roamed around.

My family and I had a good time, for the Memorial Day Weekend. First time at the Castle in the sand. It was a very nice getaway!
