Omni Riverfront Hotel

The stay was nice my family enjoyed the room as well as service and the only problem was that they charged so much for parking after you spent so much on the room! 60$ bucks a night is ridiculous. I travel a lot and stayed in several different Omni hotels and all the other hotels gave free parking or cheaper rates.

Upon check in, we were meet with one of the most unprofessional front desk clerks we'd ever encountered. She was attempting to look up my reservation, asked for my name twice and when I offered the confirmation number she ignored me. I asked again and she placed her hands on th top of the screen and said "chill out", as if she and I were acquaintances of some sort. The encounter continued to go down hill as she invited another guest over "with her eyes" as we were finishing our business with her. She would be the reason I don't recommend any of my Mardi Gras friends and family stay there. Conversely, Leonard in the bar was top tier...5 Star. He was hands down the brightest star during our stay. I will visit the hotel bar and interact with Leonard any day of the week.

The stay was good. We stayed in a room with two beds and the beds were too small for two ppl to sleep on. The water took too long to get hot. Other thank that, everything was findle. Next time traveling with family, we will have to book a bigger suite.

Carpet was very stained and dirty. Faucet and tub both dripped, I had to throw towels in both at night so it didn’t keep me awake. Toilet didn’t flush immediately after check in, took almost three hours and two calls to get maintenance up to fix it. After waiting two hours and requesting help a second time, was told maintenance may have gone home, I’d have to wait and see. I was told by several other guests to avoid the ice machine as it was disgustingly dirty. Very small continental breakfast was $27 per person, children included. I won’t go back and will think twice before I stay at another Omni hotel.

Bathroom Door - Should be repainted to cover repairs. Door was on a roller and closed on its own. Also, the door did not close completely. Bathroom Sink - It was impossible to operate the metal rod to close the sink. As a result, we could not fill the sink with water. Toliet - Low to the floor. The toilet is a good height for young kids but it is too low for adults. Layout of Rooms - Lots and lots of walking from our room to the elevator. Strange layout of hotel rooms. Lighting - Brighter lighting in the rooms would be helpful. Some locations in the room were very dark. Hotel Restaurant - Average at best and not worth the price. Recommend you try other restaurants. Ice Machine - Available on each floor which was convenient and not located in many urban hotels. View from Window - View of the parking locate across from the street. We did not request a specific view but for the price, it was disappointing.

The location was perfect and staff from Tissy to Chelsea, the valet and all treated me and my family kindly. The only complaint which was not the fault of the hotel was advertising on hotels.com that free parking and breakfast was offered so I will inquire. Otherwise, everything was great and served our needs.

Nice hotel would highly recommend it to friend and family, the staff, rooms, restaurant were very clean and comfortable, looking forward to my next visit to NOLA I would definately stay at the OMNI again
