Fairfield Inn & Suites New Orleans Downtown

Very nice & helpful front desk staff, clean rooms, good breakfast esp if traveling with kids. Close to Poydras. Short enough walk to Superdome.

Limited veg options, bathroom tap issues, elevators make noise (my kid still scares it now), paid parking why do they hide while booking , it was $43 per night!!!

Overall my stay with family was pleasant barring couple of things. One issue we faced was the way the shower is designed. There was a huge gap between the glass door and the base of the shower so while using the shower even after taking extra care, water was running out into the bathroom floor. We had to keep some towels outside the shower blocking the water each time we took bath to avoid the mess. Another thing was the strong smell of weed coming from outside one night. Not sure what the management can do regarding that. May be they should post signs warning guests not to use it within their property as it’s still illegal in LA. Other than that the stay was quite pleasant. Breakfast exceeded our expectations. Room was quite clean and checkin process was seamless. They have an excellent gym if you have time to use it.

Most comfortable beds we’ve stayed in! Was super nice to have two king beds. We stayed during Mardi Gras and the area was very busy as we expected. As a family of four there wasn’t a ton on space for our clothing or a place to sit and eat (one desk/chair and one side chair) but we made it work. Was really nice to have a microwave, fridge, and coffee maker in the room. The morning breakfasts were great and tons of choices. My teenage son was especially happy with all the offerings. The laundry facilities only have one washer/dryer and the dryer took forever but we were thankful to have one on site. Would recommend to others to stay here.
