Checked in very late after a long day of driving. Got the room key, unloaded the kids and dog at 1:30am to find our key cards don't work. Go back down to desk - to find out the key reader of that room doesn't work and the room shouldn't have been rented. Now, I have 2 kids and a dog all standing in the hallway waiting for another room. The AC unit made a very loud noise all night, making sleeping nearly impossible. The hotel itself was fine, and I hope this was an outlier experience, but left frustrated and exhausted.

Took my grandkids to the boone railroad for Santa Express. It was 18 miles away, but worth staying there. I'll be going to stay again sometime soon.
