The staff were super friendly. The room was clean as expected. The pool and hot tub were very nice. The bathtub faucet was coming away from the wall. The beds were rock hard. The bar of soap was about the size of 2 credit cards stacked and had to he replaced quickly. The shampoo/conditioner provided lasted through 1 shower each for my family of 5. While the facilities were nice, the rest felt like it was being run on a minimalist basis.

The stay was great. The pool was the highlight for our stay. Breakfast was pretty average. One thing that disappointed me was that I was told I had to pay extra due to having 3 children in one room. It was one single adult and 3 children, the website said that each room held 5 people so I wasn’t exactly sure why I was being charged more.

First room smelled like cat pee so they moved us. Second room had all the towels in the toilet. I would have thought they fell from the rack above except one was one the ground soaking wet…so someone did it purposely at some point. Third room was okay but still had tissues on the floor beside the bed. Only three towels and two hand towels and two wash clothes for the family of 4 we are and reserved for. Gentleman who checked us in and embarrassed and made sure we were in a room that was okay. Morning staff was not a happy bunch.

It was a very busy night at the hotel lots of families and kids. We had the hot tub all to ourselves. The breakfast was great and Teresa did a good job keeping it stocked. We would stay here again if we get back to Ames.

Initial customer service was outstanding (middle aged man), very friendly, accommodating, and customer oriented. He appeared genuinely pleased that we were utilizing the hotel and its services. Later on in the evening the family went swimming, our college age daughter met us at the hotel and joined us at the pool. I noticed that the towels in the pool were running low and as a courtesy let the desk know. The front desk staff (middle aged woman) came into the pool and notified us we would be charged additional money for a non-guest using the pool. (Slightly irritating, but whatever...and only 3-4 towels were brought in for the rack that holds potentially oodles.) When we were finished swimming the pool towels were empty so the wife requested some (she was in her bathing suit and wet) from the front desk. She indicated the gal appeared a bit irritated and put off. She came in with 3 more towels (we needed at least 4) and proceeded to give all of them to someone else (a man seated at a table on his cell phone fully clothed who had at least one, maybe two towels placed in front of him who gladly accepted them and then went back to his cell phone). Meanwhile, those of us out of the pool and dripping wet politely requested more, and were still short one when she came back moments later. I was very disappointed and frustrated with this lack of customer service especially when the staff member went out of her way to charge us for a non-guest using the pool.

The people next to us were up all night screaming at each other and when I went to call the front desk they said they would call that room and nothing was resolved. My child and I did not sleep at all that night it was absolutely ridiculous how they handled the situation.

The sofa-bed in our room wasn't even comfortable enough for kids.

Customer service hands down-was 1 of the best we’ve ever had! Awesome experience! Clean rooms, comfortable beds, & my kids LOVED the indoor pool! Breakfast was good as well! Showers are HOT!! You control your room temp! Very welcoming environment! We were from New Mexico-it was Christmas Day-we were driving home from Charles city, IA—it was raining & starting to snow—we still had a 15hr drive—1st time ever to visit this side of the USA! Which had our anxiety a bit high! Thankfully we felt safe enough to have my kids(13,14,16)come & go as needed!

The complimentary breakfast was delicious each morning! The food was well stocked throughout the morning, tables cleaned and multiple warm food choices given. The woman working with the breakfast was constantly checking on supplies, friendly and helpful. With the room, all of our needs were met. Our family enjoyed the pool area and played a card game using a breakfast table in the evening. We enjoyed our stay at AmericInn in Ames.

Not worth the prince. Not clean and one of the workers was not nice to me and my family.
