Comfort Inn and Suites Ames near ISU Campus

Great family trip.

This is the only hotel we stay at when we visit Ames multiple times a year. But they have really disappointed me. I needed to change a reservation 47 hours in advance. (One-hour past the 48 hr cancellation they offer on Expedia.) I know it was my own fault, but I just wanted to change the nights to arrive earlier. The rude woman on the desk told me they have a firm 30 day cancelation policy (which, by the statement above we know is not true) and told me she would not change my reservation because they were not fully booked. (What? If they WERE fully booked, she couldn't give me a room because she wouldn't have one to give. But since she had open rooms, she wouldn't move my reservation.) I usually feel like I'm part of the family when I walk into their lobby, I'm there so often. So this sticking to the rules at all costs just seems like poor customer service. (Yes, I know how entitled that sounds. It is my fault I want to change an hour outside the window...but if they have the rooms and I'm paying for a room...?) (BTW: Expedia promised to resolve my inquiry in 72 hours... a day AFTER the original checkout date.) Staying a few blocks away tonight. Might become our new go-to.

Great location and facility for our family with small kids

I stayed at Comfort Inn on short notice for Easter, when I checked in the staff was very helpful and smiling. They asked lots of questions to make sure my stay was complete, I traveled with my little dog which was no problem because they are a pet friendly hotel. The room was clean beds were comfortable and the TV was huge! There where a lot of families during my stay but the room was very quiet which is a huge plus. Will definitely stay again.

The hotel in general was very nice and quiet. The front desk clerk at night and in the morning were very nice. Housekeeping could be more thorough as my 1 yr grandbaby found some peanut m&ms and some plastic trash under the bed.

Will never stay in a hotel by a college, was like staying in a Fraternity House on a few days. Young adults acting like children, running halls, skateboarding and yelling in front of building until we’ll after 11:00pm
