Comfort Inn La Porte

We have stayed at this hotel before when in town for family visit, and will stay there again. It's been nicely updated. It's clean and has thoughtful extras, like recycling bins by the elevator. When we checked in, the young man on duty was engaging, friendly, and helpful. He gave us water bottles and a couple snack bags, which was a nice surprise. The hallways and room were clean, and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good and the other staff we interacted with were also pleasant. Highly recommend this hotel when business or leisure brings you to La Porte.

When we first entered the hotel it smelled and looked clean and we thought we had made a good choice for a place to stay. We were in town to meet with family for a Christmas get-together, so we asked them to meet us at our hotel before going out to eat. Shortly after our family of five adults and one child arrived at our room the manager came up, knocked on our door and told us that we were not supposed to have guests in our room because the hotel only had a fire rating for a certain number of people. There were hardly any cars in the parking lot so having too many people in the hotel could not be the reason. We were in an executive suite that had a table that sat six people, so the room was planned to be large enough for that number of people. We felt targeted by him for some reason, which made us very uncomfortable. I am not sure if we will try to stay here again in the future because of this.

I was quite upset when I asked for a room near the rest of our party and was told all rooms on the floor were unavailable. We all have the same last name, and I have the only room on a different floor. The room is nice, but obviously not convenient for us and our entire family.

I stay at this location with my family once a year and meet up with some friends in Union Pier, just a short ride away. Rooms are big, bathrooms are clean, and the staff are always super duper nice. The units could use some updates but overall a 5/5 on the value.

One night stay while in town visiting family. The hotel looks fairly new and the beds and pillows were amazingly comfortable. However, the rooms weren't very sound-proof, as you could easily hear hallway noise and doors slamming. i wasn't fond of the housekeeping staff running vacuum cleaners in the hallway on Sunday at 9am. But overall, I would probably stay at this hotel again.

We stay here once or twice a year when visiting family. Always clean and super friendly staff!!

We stayed at the Comfort Inn because we had a family reunion in the area. We found the hotel to be clean and safe. It is a little old but definitely worth the money that we paid.

My grandson wanted to swim for his birthday. Husband, 3 kids & grandsons dad came. I ordered pizza & as we were eating, the hotel cleck called me to the desk. She said that no birthday parties were allowed & only 4 people total was allowed in the room. I told her they were not staying the night & she said it didn't matter. We were not loud, not playing music, not disturbing anyone, but to follow the rules, I had everyone leave except me, my grandson, and his parents. That was 4 people in the room and she said four was allowed. We went to swim & the clerk came out furious telling my family they had to leave. They werent registered guests so they couldnt swim or even stay to visit, they had to leave right then, she went as far as telling them she was going to call the cops. I did not realize we couldn't have any guests at a hotel. He couldn't swim with mom & dad so we gathered our things, I left the card at the desk, & we all left. We were there less than 2 hours. I got in my vehicle & left. While my grandson was getting buckled into his car seat, he realized he left a small toy in the room. My son in law went back in to see if he could get it. She said he could not and that she would not go in the room to get it because of how trashed we left the room. I did not want to be charged for anything extra since she was already mad so the only thing we left were 2 empty pizza boxes & a soda can neatly stacked next to the trash. I looked up the policy at home & we did nothing wrong.

The room was comfortable and clean. We did hear kids running and yelling in the hall until 10 pm and was surprised that they added a fee to our nightly bill which they would refund if we left no damage in the room.
