La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Springfield IL

We stayed at the hotel on the night of 6/8. We had someone screaming and banging on doors and walls saying someone was attacking him, robbing him and then starting saying the room was on fire. Cops and fire department were called, we had to talk with police, my fiance had seen the person getting arrested throw a crack pipe on the floor. This was a drug deal a room down from me and my family.

Our room was poorly maintained. The fitted sheet did not fit or stay on the bed. There were ants on the ac unit, window, and desk. There was also roaches. I got the first one in a tissue initially thinking it was a stink bug. But it was definitely a roach. I went to the front desk to address the issue. She brought some ant killer and sprayed the room. We had reserved the room for 1 week because we were selling our house and needed to be out for showings. After the first night with bugs, we checked out and asked for a refund for the remaining days. Expedia agreed to help and stated they would refund if the property agreed to release the funds. The general manager declined. I attempted to speak with him, but the staff informed me he doesn’t come to the property and does not talk to guests, only to his business partners. I have stayed at LaQuinta before but never will again. I will make sure that my family, friends, co-workers, and my veteran community know about my experience and recommend that they also avoid the properties.

This hotel was better than I expected however, we found trash behind our bed, our outlets in the bathroom did not work and when we needed things it was a little hard for the staff to understand us being that they’re all of different nationality. Our overall stay was great and my kids really enjoyed their pool hours. I would stay here again.

Had room 316, was warned the heater is faulty some times. If it didn’t work, we could ask for a space heater. We got the space heater and it was very old and temperamental. My wife wasn’t confident sleeping with the heater running or leaving it on in our absence. Then when I used the bathroom for the first time, the handle came off. I put it on properly. Then we got woke is the first night with a a drunk beating his partner , 7 cop cars. The next night we had a mom with 4 kids a few doors down, screaming constantly at the kids and possibly worse. The property for the most part is nice however. Breakfast is left wanting but others enjoyed. But I don’t think I’d stay there again.

Late check in, late breakfast, our room #306 was right by the elevator, flag light shines directly into the room making it impossible to sleep with all that light and noise, hot portions of breakfast were vold, pool had so many chemicals that our kids had what appeared to be chemical burns even thoufh they showered directly after swimming. Horrible place

Small things added up to my 2-star rating. Elevator took a long time to go 4 floors, and sounded creaky every time. Staff was friendly enough, but nothing stood out. The room had water stains in one area of the ceiling with drywall hanging off, food stains on the wall, broken or chipped wood work debris that my dog found right away, an odd odor in the room. For the price, it did the job, and I would stay there again if there were no other options in the area, but it’s not a recommendation I would give to a friend or family member.

Great stop for our family while on the road. Clean, friendly staff, convenient, good breakfast. Will stop here again.

For the price this was excellent. We were there during the world german shepherd show in town and there were a number of big dogs. Everyone was nice and careful with their dogs and we had brought our wiener dog who thought she could whip them all. Our visit was good and the staff couldn't have been nicer. The 1 am kids running up and down the hall was not so pleasant and the cleaning crew talking loudly down the hall lacked the level of professionalism I would have expected. (2nd floor weekend of 10/26 - 10/28 of 2023)

The lobby was really pretty, very glitz and glam... I complimented the lobby to the front desk staff and he was straight up RUDE, spoke to me like I was an idiot. Sent us up to our rooms while the girls were still in there cleaning.... I don't believe they finished as there were sticky fingerprints, trash left behind and a dirty sock in the corner. They came up at 3:45 pm to let us know that we were being too loud unpacking the kids and threatened to call the police on us if they had to warn me again. They are 11 year old girls, that were merely excited to go swimming. They called our room again at 7 pm to threatened us with another noise complaint... there were 3, 40 year old moms in there painting our nails and speaking at a normal decibel. We ended up packing all 3 rooms of families up and leaving before 9:30 pm as we were being herassed by the staff and had no idea why. They refused to refund us the money and kept the additional $450 that they charged us is deposits that were to cover breakages and smoking in the room.... where nothing was broken, and my girls of 11 years... nor any adults present smoke. They actually called the police and inspected the rooms before we were allowed to leave the property. I felt like we were targeted and completely mistreated. My 11 year old cried herself to sleep that night as we were traveling for her birthday. Absolutely terrible experience, and I will never give La Quinta another dime of my money if this isn't rectified appropriately.
