Holiday Inn Express Springfield, an IHG Hotel

Front desk was very accommodating for myself and my family. Helped us with all our needs during our stay.

Was disappointed overall! Sitting chair in room was very uncomfortable and ultimately useless to sit in! Pool was closed for "maintenance" which severely upset the kids and would have completely changed our decision to stay here or not. Breakfast was the final disappointment, horrible selection, sausage tasted like saw dust, and pancake machine broken

Pool was out of commission, things happen I get it, but a huge bummer for the kids. Shampoo and body wash bottles were empty in shower. Good breakfast in the morning, and friendly staff.

This was our 1st stay at a Holiday Inn Express and will be our last. We travel cross country to see family at least 3 times a yr and usually spend 25-30 nights in hotels. I was very disappointed with our 1st night in a Holiday Inn Express. Property overall looked kind of nice. There are area's of improvement needed that as a previous Holiday Inn employee (1982-1985) I noticed. Upon entering our room, first thought was that it was much smaller than I thought. Closet and drawers looked cheap and were purchased from a 2nd hand store. Lighting was poor. Unable to work at desk with no light. Pet fee is not $40 as stated on app. It is $65. 49 plus $9.17 room tax on the pet fee! On the plus side, staff was very nice and friendly. I will not stay at a Holiday Inn Express again. Had I known the increased pet fee AND TAX ON PET FEE, I would not have booked at this hotel.
