Check in was a breeze..And the desk clerks were very friendly. We were on the ninth floor, pretty quiet with no disturbance. Room was very clean to our satisfied...Me and hubby had a peaceful and enjoyable stay. We slept like babies ..the king size bed was so soft and plush..like sleeping on clouds ...Would stay again.

We were in town for a family funeral and only stayed one night. We have stayed there several times before so no brainer that we would book a room there again. Quiet, clean room and convenient to near restaurants. We will definitely stay again at the Crown Plaza.

Can't believe how run down it looks - when I was a kid this hotel was the place to stay.

The stay was fairly good, which is much less than I was hoping to say about the Crowne Plaza as it’s more of a premium option for Springfield, IL. I liked how large the room was, the view from my room, the overall layout and design, and the staff was great. However, the hotel as a whole is pretty run down. The faded, outdated lobby has a broken elevator and old, incredibly shaky elevators covered in tape and graffiti (not spray paint mind you, but carved into the metal). The sheets were uncomfortable and rigid, the curtains in my room had black (ink?) stains on them, and you could vividly hear everyone, especially families with kids running around, through the door throughout the night. I’m not sure if I’d return, but I can’t rank it too low as it was still an enjoyable stay despite its flaws. However, my main (and very petty) complaint is they don’t offer bars of soap nor room service anymore. Not a legitimate gripe for most, but I certainly missed it.

The hotel was beautiful, we got a room in the 11th floor with somewhat a decent view. My problem is that I booked my room through Travelocity, paid for the room in full, and showed up to check in, had to walk though people all gathered at the entrance smoking cigarettes, with my children, paid an extra $50 fee and the room was not the room I had reserved online, and I felt bad complaining, but 4 people were not about to sleep in one bed, so I called the desk and they moved us to the across the hall, and the new room was fine, but they never cleaned the room they had originally put in, before someone was walking in the door to stay there, so I felt bad we had laid on the bed and used the bathroom, and it wasn’t cleaned for the next guest, but I was just happy we got a room to accommodate our request. My problem is that, upon checking out of the room, taking my time to go down and return the key to make sure I got my $50 back, I didn’t get my $50 back, and was additionally charged for the room a second time. So I have called back and was told the money would be refunded to my card, and it has not. I have other bills that need to be paid and they are all now late due to the incompetence of this hotel. I will never stay here again.

I stay at the plaza a few times a year but this stay has put a bad taste in my mouth. I book a stay here from time to time for my son and I to have a “yes” day and get away from all of our home responsibilities and just simply relax. The hotel staff was kind at check in. Upon arriving to our room, we unpacked and found that our mini fridge didn’t work, the room table next to the mirror had crumbs and cup rings all over it because it hadn’t been cleaned off and there were dirty towels messily folded up in the bathroom under the sink. We got there around 5pm and wanted to go for a hot tub/swim first before ordering dinner in. We got to the pool area and found that the hot tub was broke. Absolute bummer as that is why we were there. Let my kid swim for a bit until one of the other guests children thought it was funny to cough and spit his luggies into the pool water. At that point we had it and left the pool and headed back to our room. We were so bummed as we’ve had so many great stays here before. I absolutely wasted my money this time however. We ate went to bed and left first thing in the morning despite having plans to hopefully swim the next morning until check out. I had told the front desk about the experiences the night before leaving. Super bummed and doubt we will be back.

We had to move to 4 different rooms. The first wasn’t made up and only had 1 bed when we reserved two beds. The 2nd one the window was broken open. The 3rd one the heat was broken. Then we went to the pool and there were no clean towels. They did eventually get clean towels for the pool. It was just really inconvenient to move 3 times with 2 kids in tow!

The Lobby was nice and glamorous, but the rooms where dirty and tub caulking was nasty. The Fridge froze our water, one of the packets that hold the sugar and creamer for Coffee was as hard as a rock. Ask front desk for fresh, coffee and packets and for room to be cleaned and the only thing that was done was they picked up the used towels. The pool area was nice, but it was suppose to be heated and was not. The pool also had a dirt ring all the way around the pool at the water line. The hot tub was nice and hot though. They had a kid pageant and they where running up and down the halls and yelling. We had to insist they move us to another room or give us our money back. They did move us with no problem. Staff was friendly I have to mention that. We went there and picked this hotel for a romantic weekend getaway, but was not fully happy with the stay. I'm not sure we would stay there again
