The Godfrey Hotel Chicago

Overall the hotel was nice and a good location! Front door young man very nice and valet! Didn’t think the front desk staff was very friendly! Our room was not as cool as we would have liked! Other family members that were also staying said same thing!

For some reason the reception/ Checkin desk informed our party they did not have reservations. Of course, that set off the anxiety in the family member. Then when I came in showing the reservation we were given our rooms. However, while standing there I asked what had happened previously that they weren’t able to find the reservation and they ignored me. The roof bar was very nice and the food had excellent quality and superb flavors. The drinks were made well and some excellent concoctions. One of the beds could use a mattress replacement.

I would not recommend for a family vacation. Service was fair at best and hotel service reps were not very friendly. Valet service slow and no restaurant on site except for bar/restaurant on roof which is geared for the single/couples scene.

Despite offering clean and spacious rooms suitable for families during our four-night stay, the lack of breakfast, room service, and complimentary parking was inconvenient. Furthermore, the additional $50 per day for parking was way too expensive. The hotel's location was excellent, but the overly soft mattresses impacted our comfort during our stay.

Best place I have ever stayed the staff are very friendly and the hotel is very clean and very safe and the view to the downtown from room was amazing highly recommended to stay here I give this place a 100/10 and the price is very cheap and the rooms are so beautiful and clean I highly recommended to stay here with your family this place is awesome

We would happily stay there again. No issues recommending this hotel to others either. Okay, probably not the place I would stay if I had kids with me though. The negatives were how horrible the elevators smelled of cheap cologne and weed (such a great combination) and how incredibly loud some groups were, especially when returning to rooms after 2am. Like going out of their way to annoy other hotel guests.

Godfrey was a great experience! very nice hotel! My only concern was the shower set up. Little shower head, not much power there, and the height of the shower head was broken. I’d recommend to family and friends, just would check the bathroom situation first lol!

Front desk staff very friendly and valet service very accommodating to a lot of in/out activity on a family get away weekend.

Our stay was great! We rented a suite, and were happy with the room. We especially enjoyed the city view. The room is clean, well-appointed, and has everything we needed as a family to relax and enjoy our stay. The location is great as well.

This hotel is located in a very high traffic area of the city. There is very limited space outside of the hotel on the street for you to stop your car and check in. When I arrived, there was absolutely no space and I had to park further down the street and illegally park. I was also alone with my toddler so I called the hotel to ask if valet could come get my car so that I could check in with my toddler. I waited almost 20 minutes and had to call again just to get my car valeted (which cost $70 usd) vs parking elsewhere for $53 usd. When the valet finally came, I asked if they had a cart for my luggage since I was holding my baby and they simply pointed to the hotel and said "you can go get one from front desk". I'm frustrated because I didn't get any help from them when they clearly saw that I needed help. This level of service isn't what I expected for the price tag. I stayed at this hotel 8 years ago and had a much better experience - perhaps it was because I didn't have a child with me then.
