InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile, an IHG Hotel

Outstanding experience! We arrived to the hotel well before the 3p check-in time and were told “Your room is ready.” After a long flight, it meant a lot to our family to get to our room (Executive Tower) and rest up before evening birthday activities. The room had a beautiful view of Michigan Ave./Magnificent Mile. It was spacious, clean, and the beds were comfortable. The shower products were luxurious. The location of the hotel was perfect for us - close to great shopping, only a 5min walk to the River Walk, a 20-minute walk to the Cadillac Theatre / Chicago Theatre. The hotel building had so much character inside and out and especially the swimming pool. Wowza! The space is like something out of a movie - GORGEOUS. 4 days-3 nights was not enough time in Chicago. When we return to the city, we will definitely stay at Intercontinental again. Thank you for making our birthday celebration so special!

The best 35th wedding anniversary and family birthdays ever!!!

We loved EVERYTHING about this hotel. Location is excellent!! We walked to Water Tower Mall and to Navy Pier. Beds are super comfortable. Rooms are quiet. Huge pool with family movies on weekends. Starbucks on site. Free in and out privileges with valet parking. But the biggest standout was the staff!! Super friendly, so helpful, really fantastic - everyone from the valet, front desk, bell man, concierge. They were the best and the door man outside was so wonderful with my 3 and 5 year old grandchildren, remembering them every time we left and returned. I wish I had caught his name, but he was just the best! We will definitely return.

Love the location and the room works well for our family of 4. The front desk graciously made an exception and brought a roll away to our room, which fit perfectly in the corner of the executive tower room and made a HUGE difference to the comfort of our 4 night stay. We struggled to get 4 towels/washcloths every day and there was a rather large roach in the room on the last night. We also didn’t receive the 2 dinner vouchers included with our Expedia reservation.

Freddie was extremely helpful with our room. We appreciated that he recognized us from prior stays. Out granddaughters stayed with us in suite and it was perfect! Wish the pool was more amenable to younger kids, the floor was slippery 🙁

Good for a family trip in Chicago

My first night was terrible. I brought my family to the city to have a fun and safe time. The overnight staff were very rude and not friendly. They made my small children and I feel very uncomfortable. I spoke with the daytime supervisor and she assured me that would not happen again, but that was not the customer service I expected to receive at any point of our stay.

Overall service was great. Hotel and room was aged. Breakfast on the second floor was good but the service was lacking and rude. During our stay my kids returned to the hotel early and both of their keys were demagnetized. Not only were they not able to fix the issue and had to sit alone in public but I had to cut my day short to come back and make sure they could get in. To further agrávate the situation all our keys did not work. When I went to the front desk, the woman clearly did not seem concerned with the safety concerns or our inconvenience. Clearly a hidden potential jewel that missed the mark

Our staying in the hotel was great, it is a very beautiful traditional hotel, the employees were very friendly and nice with us, the breakfast was not incredible but it was very good. Just few things to take note: when we arrived the bedroom was smelling a little bit humid, not a fresh or air clean smell, when we opened the nightstand, there was a black trash plastic bag inside, considering the whole room was clean, that issue was not a big concern. Most of the men lockers at Gym/Spa were not working properly. We considered that the classic two bed room is not comfortable for a 4 family member, if you have small kids you would be okey, but in our case with an 11 and 12 years old kids, the beds were too small.
