Hyatt Place Chicago Midway Airport

i enjoyed my stay until the last day, i woke up with bed bug bites all over my back and my infants face.

Great experience for the family.

I was very appreciative of the amazing ease of check-in. The room was large and accommodated myself and my family nicely.

I have a mixed review, and mostly very good. So I’ll start off with the not so good. We rented 3 rooms for our families, and 2 of the rooms had dirty/stained sheets and blankets. We didn’t have any luck trying to get them changed for us. I think my sister stopped trying however she did try. So that was a downer. And there were no microwaves in the rooms, we must have missed that memo. But as far as the great, the hotel staff was amazing. They were so kind, so friendly, accommodating on the questions and favors I had, especially Ash and Cessa (hopefully I spelled her name right) They made us feel right at home, even though we were 1200 miles away. If it wasn’t for them and the other front desk workers, I truly feel I would have left with a different mindset. They are why we absolutely loved our stay as much as we did!

Hotel is clean and safe. My only complaint is that there is little to no sound proofing in the rooms so we were woken up very early both mornings by screaming kids running up and down the hallways.

We were a family of four with two teens. My son was flying out of Chicago Midway to visit a cousin. As someone who travels with kids this is what I would want to know: 1. The breakfast is EXCELLENT - probably the best hotel breakfast in a hotel of this kind that I’ve ever had. There were lots of options for vegetarian and even some GF options. They put food on burners and it is very fresh and presented well. Honestly I’d stay here again in Chicago just for the breakfast. You don’t see hotel breakfasts like this anymore. 2. The pool is a little on the small side and there is no hot tub. 3. The bar and restaurant are nice and they also sell small goodies in a bakery style display kind of like a mini Starbucks. They also have various Starbucks coffees. The people in the bar and restaurant were a little short staffed but super nice. 4. The 24 hour shuttle hits all the hotels in the loop, then goes to the airport. But you can also take the shuttle to the airport and pick up the L from there. So use the shuttle to the L rather than driving into the city. Fare was $2.50 a way which is way cheaper than parking at the Field Museum (which is where we went for the day). I got the Venta app on my phone which connected to my Apple Wallet so all I had to do is tap my phone for everyone - no machines necessary. If you take the L from Midway it is a little hard to find from where the shuttle drops off, so pay attention to signage and ask people in the airport. They were very nice.

I like staying at the chain of hyatt because there is always room enough for my family. Theres breakfast free. This hyatt near midway was close to alot of things.
