Overview

The Lava Hotel offers a unique and convenient stay for families. The hotel's tiny homes are perfect for smaller families and are within walking distance of local amenities. Families love the bunk beds available in some rooms and the on-site hot spring pool is a big hit with children. While some rooms might be smaller and lack complete privacy between rooms, the excellent location and friendly staff make up for any shortcomings.

We stayed in one of the tiny homes and loved it! It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay for our family of 3. Walkable to all parts of town.

Convenient location right on main street. Can walk to everything. We chose the room because it had bunk beds, so our kids had separate beds. The building is old and seems to be retrofitted. Queen bed in the front room, bunk beds in a center room, bathroom in the back. No doors between any of the rooms. Shower in the back room, so nowhere private to dress. Room worked well enough and the price is right.

Very friendly staff, easy to walk to dining and hot pools. My kids were really excited that our room had a bunk bed.

Love love love! Booked for next year on day 1 of our 3 day weekend. I wanted to make sure we could get a spot as we’re bringing family next year. Stayed in one of the tiny homes on the property. Make sure you grab a massage at the spa while you’re there! Incredible!

I've now stayed here twice - once with my sister in a deck room in December and once with my family of 7 in two rooms with mountain views in early July. Accommodations are clean, well-maintained and comfortable. The bathrooms were spacious and modern. The deck rooms seemed a little smaller than standard rooms while the mountain view rooms had space for a desk and chair and all our stuff. All rooms came with a mini fridge and microwave which we made use of since there is no breakfast service. The entire property was well maintained. Both times we enjoyed the hot spring pool on the property, though the spring-summer run-off minerals were high in iron this year and some of our light color swimsuits now have light rust stains. It is right in the heart of town - easy walk to restaurants, shopping, town museum, park, river. Next time I want to try out the spa services. My only complaint is that both times the internet connection was so poor that we gave up on logging on (in Dec it was almost non-existent so we used our cell hotspot, in July it was very laggy so we played games and spent more time at the pool).

Great location but the main bed had wheels that did not lock allowing the bed to move too easily. Bunk beds constantly squeaking as kids slept. Making sleep difficult for others. Staff at check in were very helpful
