avid hotel Savannah South - Gateway, an IHG Hotel

Hotel was clean and the staff were wonderful. The guys at the front desk were helpful and friendly. They remembered us at check out and it was nice that they took time to acknowledge my daughter and talk to her as well. People sometimes forget that kids are guests too. The room was clean and had everything we needed. Free breakfast and coffee bar was better than expected. The only complaint I have would be the bathroom. There were caulking issues and looks like some mold in the corners, not a lot but enough that I noticed. The water temp and pressure were great though. Would stay again.

When I first arrived, I was given a room on the 4th floor(that’s what I wanted originally so I don’t have anyone running around in the middle of the night and waking my family up), the sheets were disgusting, it had semen stain from the previous guest. I went downstairs and the nice front desk lady gave us a different room. When we got in the room, the sheets had freshly make up stains with long hair right next to it, plus the pillows also had hair. I noticed that the cleaning lady was cleaning a room near by, and I asked her if she could change my sheets, she complained about how that is not her room to clean and disappeared. I once again told the front desk lady, and she gave us a room on the 3rd floor and told us that she would block the room above us so that way we don’t have too much noise. When we got into the room, once again our sheets were dirty and it had a really strong smell of febreeze(which I found that weird) . Thankfully this time a different cleaning lady was nearby and helped us change the sheets with no problems, she was super nice. The next day, we walk up to a strong urine smell and were just puzzled of where that smell was coming from. It turned out that right outside the bedroom there was a huge urine stain, I’m sure that’s what was making the room stinky. On the last night, my family got woken up at 11:30pm to guests above us that had kids and the kids were running for 2 hours. I guess front desk lady forgot to block the last night too

the air conditioning wasn't working, and in my family's other rooms it wasn't working either, the cleaning wasn't good either and they even left a dirty cloth inside the bathroom

Hotel was clean and staff were very friendly. The only thing that would have made this hotel better would have been to have microwaves in the rooms. If you have kids you don't want to be going up and down the elevator to warm up food. I didn't not want to do this and it was just me. If I were traveling with my family I would probably not book for this reason as this is something I look for when book as a family.

The bathroom has mold, the keys got deactivated every day, one day the room didn't have housekeeping done. The staff was really unfriendly, the hallway and elevator smell Marijuana. Was bad experience for me and my family.

When we arrived no one was manning the front desk. We and two other groups were waiting ~10 minutes calling customer service until someone showed up and apparently they were the only person watching the entire hotel. Not the best experience when you arrive 9:30ish in the evening with tired kids from a long day not knowing how long until you can get to your room.

I would not recommend this hotel. We had a 3 day stay, checked in on a Friday night (memorial weekend) & there was only 1 staff. The first room we were assigned was already occupied, the second room we were assigned was 1 king bed when we needed 2 queens, and finally the third room was right but there was blood droppings on the floor & hair in the first 2 towels I opened up. We have 2 young kids and going up and down multiple times to get the correct room, we we’re exhausted and decided to look past those issues - it took us an hour & half to get our room. At 12:30 that night, 4 men walked in on us while we were sleeping because they were assigned our room - noted, always keep the bolt lock, locked!! We complained the next morning with no sympathy reply “sorry about that”. We went on our day and the next night, again around 12:30-1:00, I get a call on my cell phone from the front desk asking if we are still checked into the hotel or if we had left, then asking what room number we are in. I advised and after that I was over the whole place so the next morning I requested a refund for our 3rd night as we were going to find somewhere else to stay. Luckily they were quick to give that, but they had refunded the wrong room because they thought we were in one of the 3 rooms we were given the first night - even after talking to me the prior night!! I think this is a quick one night stay hotel, as you even have to request someone to clean your room if wanted.

Rooms are clean and hotels is over all clean, new and in a good area and stuffs are friendly. Rooms are very small, not for family with child, no microwave in the room, not even a couch to rest. Mattresses could be firmer. Careful while driving up the ramp to get to the parking, the slope is too stiff, my van's bottom was getting every time.

We arrived after 11pm with 2 room requirement for our family. Desk staff placed us on either side of a room full of loud children that were bouncing on the bed, with tv turned up loud and screaming. We fell asleep from exhaustion from our travels.

Check took long, 30 minutes couple in front of us were having issue with reservation being cancelled and there was only one hotel attendee. Several families were also waiting behind is.
