Opal Sands Resort

The Opal Sands resort was a great weekend getaway for me and my family. It's in the heart of Clearwater beach Pier 60 where you have great places to eat, drink and just hang out. I would definitely recommend this resort.

Wonderful property! Relaxing and sunny! Be careful of Friday and Saturday night stays with other people’s kids everywhere in the pool area being very loud -parents not keeping watch. Sunday morning has been so quiet and relaxing, feels like a different crowd altogether!

Everything about the hotel was amazing! The only down side was we couldn’t enjoy the pool as much because there were so many little kids. Summer time I guess. We will have to go back when school is back in session so we can actually enjoy the pool. Other than that it was a perfect place for a couples getaway!

Right from check-in everything went well! Folks at this resort were super friendly, and I should say this resort is well managed. We loved the view of the bay from our balcony, dining choices at the restaurant within the hotel and in-room dining service, and the resort pool where our toddler had lots of fun!

Our family of 4 and a dog stayed the memorial day weekend in Opal Sands and we loved everything they offered. The pool overlooking the beach was beautiful and my girl even spotted a dolphin from the pool. All the food and beverages we ordered from the restaurant and bar were great with reasonable price. The room we stayed was in good condition overall and I especially liked the wooden floor. There was a construction site in the hotel but it was limited to the corner of the ground floor and did not bother at all. The option of walking to and from the beach was the best part as it was clean and safe to play there until dark.

Very quick getaway for my husband’s birthday! Perfect ambiance for an overnight stay for grown-ups! The decor is updated, customer service was A+ which is often a challenge. We’ve stayed here with our teen kids as well and they loved all the activities at Clearwater. Would love more room by the pool but otherwise no complaints. We live near Tampa and will be back!

We spent five days at the resort. We had an absolutely amazing time. The staff was so attentive and helpful. Our room was kept clean, there were movie events for kids with snacks and refreshments. We are already planning another trip in 2024 to the same spot!

I would have given the Opal Sands all five stars. The reason for the four was simply because the pool was way too cold. They are right on the beach and have no control over the weather, however they do on the pool temperature. Being that it was extremely windy causing rip tides, meant that swimming in the gulf wasn't an option for children. But neither was the pool because it was too cold. Not only my children, but other families as well, were forced to take their children to the spa, interrupting couples that were trying to have an intimate weekend.

Opal Sands Resort was such an incredible location to stay for my family . Incredible sunset views , beautiful pool and Sauna with great Clearwater beach views from our room . I was impressed by the cleanliness , customer service and overall great vibe of the surroundings. The location is close to everything. This family will be returning soon . Thank you !
