Courtyard by Marriott Miami Dadeland

I stayed with my family and everithing at the front desk and Valet parquing was great. One day we enter to our room and it was not done. My kids were on white socks all the time in the room, and they were completely dirty after a while walking on the carpet. But the service at the bistro was great and the people who attended us were all the time very kind.

My family (3 adults 1 toddler) and I just returned from a stay at the Courtyard Marriott. It was less than impressive for Marriot's standards. There were a few things that really irked me: - Although the Expedia site says valet parking is optional, there is no option for self parking (unless you park on the street). Valet parking is US$26 per day, which feels steep considering it's the only option. - It might be helpful to also note there is a US$5 charge PER package received (the first two packages are no charge). This is not stated on the listing either. - There is no safe in the room, however there is a safe deposit box in the lobby at no extra cost (but don't lose the key because that of course comes with a charge). - US$150 deposit required on check in. On the pros: - There is a little bistro in the lobby that serves great coffee (Starbucks) - The staff were really friendly - The area is very walkable. There are lots of little cafes and restaurants in the area. Publix is right behind the hotel, which is great for picking up bottled water and essentials. - Dadeland Mall is right across the street (walkable). Honestly, if you're comparing other properties in the area, the Hampton Inn is a better option. The price was similar (a little less), no charges for packages, two queen beds (not doubles at Courtyard Marriott), free breakfast / coffee and tea station and free self parking. Plus right across from Target.

During check-in a man came out of a back room and said they're upgrading us and giving us a special room, higher up & proceeds to hand us the keys. Immediately after the head of the housekeeping came and said she wants to make sure the room is up to her standards and to give her a moment to check. 10 minutes later she returns to ask for our keys back because shes found us a better room. Only to put us BACK in the room we were originally reserved for on a lower floor 😑 Later that night we turn in for bed, from 1030pm-3am a dog barked the entire time next door. Sometime after midnight the police arrived banging on the door, demanding we open it. When we did they were looking for a Caleb. Half a sleep and still afraid something in the building is wrong I said "What?" I thought they were kidding and they Immediately said sorry wrong room and left. Never knocking on another door. After this I stepped out on the terrace to get some fresh air, when I go to get back in the room, the door handle breaks and we're essentially locked out on the terrace in our robes. After some poking and prodding the inside handle falls off too and we can finally just slide the door and get in. FINALLY we can get sleep! Well no, the dog starts back barking and from about 1a-3a horns are constantly honking outside the front of the hotel. During check out I expressed everything to the front desk, and there only response to everything was "Really, a dog? I'm sorry." Worse stay ever.
