Comfort Suites Miami - Kendall

Our family and I always enjoy our stay at this hotel. It's conveniently located and immaculately clean. The daily breakfast is delicious and abundant. The staff is very hospitable. And Alexander is the best!

This whole experience was a nightmare. I called in the morning to confirm my reservation and inquire about a possible early check in. I was told there should be a room available by 1pm. I arrived, family in toe, to be informed that nothing was ready. I told them we'd wait by the pool, to please let us know when something became available. Which the front desk clerk agreed to do. I came back to check twice. The second time leaving my cell phone number with the clerk, both times turned away. At 3pm I returned to the desk with my family, finally allowed to begin the paperwork. Now why on earth would they lead me to believe I was able to unpack early if they had no intention in doing so. Why not just tell me "no" the first go round? THEN, during check in (at least 4 interactions later) they tell me that the room I already paid for in advanced, with a no refund policy, required an additional deposit of $150. You can imagine my dismay. Considering thats more than I paid for the night's stay, the website said it included all fees, and they've had several direct contact opportunities to inform me of this. I didn't go to Miami to vacation or sightsee or party. I went to visit my mother, just out of tripple bypass surgery. I was on a strict budget n timeline. I couldn't wait 6-10 business days to get my money back for gas on the way home. It created a Real problem for me. As if that fiasco wasnt enough, we spend the night sweating because the AC was frozen n loud.

The hotel was clean and smelled great. My family have NO complaints on the stay or the amenities. The only little advise I would give is more options provided for breakfast

The staff at the hotel were very kind and accommodating; room was a nice size, relatively quiet, and breakfast was fine and expected. The lower rating was because of persistent plumbing issues. In the room we were given there was a leak from the wall/toilet that put a significant amount of water on the bathroom floor in a short amount of time. With small kids I didn't want to deal with slipping hazards so we requested a new room and were moved down the hall quickly and very kindly. This room had a leaky faucet and a water leak under the carpet in the wall next to the bathroom that created a damp area that did not go away overnight. We stayed in that room overnight because we could avoid the area and were leaving the next morning, but plumbing seemed to be a persistent issue in the property. Other than this it was a solid hotel near a grocery store and intersection with quick food options, a decent pool with towels to borrow, and again, staff were very helpful and eager to accommodate.

Tried to receive a refund because it was a family emergency (death in the family), and the hotel did not budge. Talk about absolutely no sense of humanity.

We stayed at the comfort because of the closeness to the fair grounds. Great spacious rooms. Our double Queen also came with a pull out couch. Beds were comfy and lots of good channels on cable. Room has fridge and microwave with wet sink outside the bathroom. Pool and hot tub were nice even on a cold windy day. Breakfast was okay. Not a ton of options but good enough for continental. We stayed with our two kids ages 6&7 and it was perfect.

Convenient to the location of our family events. Room 421 needs a new lightbulb in the bathroom.
