I’ve stayed at the Tony hotel multiple times Prior this trip. I’ve always had a good stay until this particular stay. The staff were horrible. The representative that helped me when I first arrived ensured me that the two rooms I paid for were close. When the room was ready 4 hrs later I was told by another rep that they didn’t have two rooms available close together.( My children had one room so of course I needed the room close to mines) We had already checked one room and then I was told about the room issue. The manager immediately found two rooms close together after I requested. Then this manager accused me of having a fraudulent credit card because it didn’t have a chip. I had just used the card to check in the first room. I even showed him the payment coming from the account online. He then asked the other rep if he saw me slide my card and the rep looked him straight in his eye and said “NO” even though he took the payment. I will never stay at this hotel ever again.

We liked the hotel and the proximity to the beach everything is walking distance. However, the breakfast is $20 per adult and there is no washing machines in the entire hotel. There was no microwaves in the room either. Not very family friendly.

Boutique hotel in amazing location.
The beach chairs as part of your stay is a huge plus, otherwise they cost $20 per chair, Umbrella is not included which is $20, but you can pop over to Walgreens and buy your own for $20.
We did take advantage of visiting Wynwood Walls, Tony hotel guests get in FREE, kids really enjoyed seeing the graffiti, it's beautifully done in the entire area.
Only downside of room is the shower, it's not enclosed entirely, and the lip is too small to contain the water in the basin and i found the entire bathroom floor got wet, shower did not also drain very well so your feet are in your bathed water. Check-in was super later, we didn't get our room till 4pm and we arrived at 10am. We had requested early check in but unfortunately was not possible. Their system was apparently 'down', but around 3:30pm when i got a little agitated i decided to sit in the lobby and ask for constant updates and by miracle my room was suddenly ready. The guest who checked in right before that were told the system was down and they could store luggage and come back later...this is almost at 4pm. They need to be better on the check-in process.
the restaurant below is great, they also give you a 25% off coupon and BOGO drink BONUS.
All in all great location, convenient to walk everywhere, and despite being soring break we were there in the week days and had a great time..

The location was good but I found the room could use a deep clean. There was debris falling on the bed from the light in the ceiling. Also, being an older hotel, the rooms are not sound proof. We could hear the people/cleaning staff above us and a screaming kid next door.
Happy Hour was pricey compared to other locations along Collins Avenue. Front Desk staff were pleasant but found service in the bar very slow and made to feel we were putting him out.
Overall, our stay was satisfactory for the price.

The proximity to the beach was great. As was our concierge Jamie. However, the cleanliness of our room left much to be desired. We’re fairly flexible travellers, but finding a cockroach in our room ruined the experience. Very disappointing. Would not recommend this hotel for families.

Nice hotel extremely well located on South Beach. It is on Collins Street, 2min walk from Ocean Dr and the beach. You're also about 15min from Lincoln Rd.
The hotel itself is nice and well decorated, the lobby has nice art deco touches. All the staff we met was very friendly and helpful. You also get complimentary free admission to Wynwood Walls and free towels and lounge chairs at the beach (umbrellas are extra and will cost $20).
The rooftop pool was great, we spent most of our time there. The pool isn't the biggest but it's enough to cool off, and there's plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas around. The hotel clientele is calmer and more respectful that what we saw elsewhere, no loud music, shouting or people drinking too much. We had a 1yo baby and felt comfortable, they provided a crib for our room.
On the downsides, the rooms are in need of an update, they're pretty basic and dated. Soundproofing could be better, we could hear the people upstairs walking in their room very clearly, but outside city noises are blocked reasonably well.
Overall I recommend the hotel, especially if you're traveling with family or if you want something a bit calmer in the middle of south

This historic hotel is beautiful inside and out, and a wonderful place to stay for families. However, South Beach has changed quite a bit, and is not a suitable or even safe area for families. We loved the hotel, but we checked out after one night to stay in a different area.

The staff at The Tony Hotel (formerly The Hotel) are excellent, they are almost like family. Close to the "action" on Ocean Drive without the noise. And the News Cafe has finally reopened!!!

The Front desk Staff was excellent. Luis was exceptional. Mel was very patient and took the time to answer all my questions. Staff greeted us warmly and kind. Great customer service. The hotel is a little outdated. The rooms are smaller than normal. The bathroom and shower areas even smaller. The beds seemed smaller than most and were a little hard. Not many outlets in the room. The room was not kid friendly had to protect against the sharp edges. Only a fridge in room and the safe was broken. Hard to request face towels multiple times and was always told they did not have any. We ended up just going to buy some. It was centrally located to beach and other attracts but had a hard time locating B and B the vendor for the hotel that supplied the towels and Chairs. They had multiple pop ups on the beach but you had to keep walking until you found the right one and the hotel’s vendor was a few blocks away along the beach. Hotel roof top pool was very nice. Food no matter where you went on the area was very expensive. Over all enjoyed the hotel and its friendliness.
