We made a last-second booking of 2 rooms at Moxy Hotel in South Beach for a our family of 2 adults and 4 kids. This is not a hotel suitable for families, more a party hotel for the young at heart. We checked in on a Sunday and the party at the roof-toop was going on until late at night. The manager at shift (Kevin) was so kind to change our reservation from a 4 night stay to a 1 night stay. Lovely service byt The hotel does feature a cool pool area & sun terrasse. Next to the pool there is an nice open-air restaurant, Serena, with a laid back atmosphere for brunch, lunch, drinks or dinner. Hotel is located on Washington Avenue, a short walk to the beach and many good restaurants in the area. Note that the rooms at Moxy are tiny (no space for your luggage). Continental breakfast included what only small bites in the reception/lounge area.

This hotel had a great south beach vibe. Lobby, pools and restaurants were great. Rooms a little small if your traveling with family but would definitely stay here again!

This property was just okay. We would not stay here again. As a 30 year old with small children, this stay was miserable! The rooms are so tiny that you can not open a full sized suitcase and still walk in the room. There are no closets, only a metal structure to hang wet towels and clothes. There is nowhere to sit in the room other than on your bed i.e. no chairs or a desk. There was no microwave in the room OR fridge. Many guests were buying / sharing coolers bought at 7/11 to keep drinks cool. No coffee/ tea maker in your room, but there was an overpriced coffee shop downstairs if you got desperate enough. I specifically booked this hotel because there was a business center advertised online. I work remotely and expected to be able to do this during my stay. When I asked the front desk staff about it, they laughed! The "business center" was one computer in the lobby that was kept with club lighting and music every day and night, impossible to work. Each room of the hotel is heavily perfumed, not great if you have asthma. The restaurants on site were overpriced and very meh. Service charge added for parties of "between 1-5". The pool on the roof had stray eyelashes and extensions in it, needed to be cleaned. The 2nd floor pool was where we spent most of our time. Vey easy to walk to the beach from here and the location was good. THEY TRIED TO CHARGE US TO CHECK OUT EARLY after death in the family. DO NOT STAY HERE

I would give the property 2/10. Location was good close to local restaurants & only a few minutes away from the beach. Rooms were clean but extremely small with little to no privacy roof top pool was advertised similar to a pool party vibe and it wasn’t at all. Bartenders upstairs on rooftop were miserable down stairs too in the lounge. Regular pool was nice but small compared to other hotels in the area but it is kid friendly. No refrigerator in room and the TV kept freezing when we tried to put on music. No ice in halls had to go downstairs to main lobby/bar. Advertised that they had beach chairs & towels went to the beach no towels if you use the hotel towels they charge 15$ each went into the water for only a few minutes & our wallets and cell phones were stolen came back to the room to let staff know & there was no empathy what we got was “it’s happens all the time at South beach was it at gunpoint? We said no then you’re lucky it wasn’t at gunpoint, there is people out there who just look for tourists and steal your stuff” if it’s something that is extremely common the hotel should warn guests upon arrival so we would’ve been more aware of our surroundings. We tried to use the phone inside the room to call our kids & they were old phones that didn’t work well (loose wires & bad connection) Lobby was kind of dirty, nothing impressive about this hotel. Staff gave off a we don’t care attitude. Wouldn’t stay at this location again. Try Lowe’s instead much safer & enjoyable.

Unfortunately I had a bad experience at this hotel. I was with 2 friends and 1 kid 3 years old and the room was very very very small!!! We were unable to walk inside the room to move around, They don't have a table to put anything you want to eat or drink, If you want to buy something to drink or eat outside of the hotel, you will have to leave it in the bathroom. The location is good but the hotel room is fortunately terrible, horrible, an investment thrown in the trash.

Walls are too thin so we could hear people even just talking next door and over night as people would come back to their rooms they would be very loud in the hallways and slamming doors. One day there were a group of women at the pool-very loud and cursing and acting inappropriate for this kind of hotel where there are also kids and families. I feel that in this case, something should've been said to them. Overall, the hotel is very nice. Food is great area is safe and so much to do in the area in the walkable distance.

We booked our stay at the Moxy for over a week and after 2 days of being at the hotel ; we were accidentally checked out twice in one day. We get a call from the receptionist’s asking us why we are still checked in if we’re supposed to be out by 4pm. I explain to them that we are booked for over a week at this hotel and they need to look into this. However a few days pass and the same thing happens, and on top of all that they ask me for my credit card information because for some reason “it was not on file”. So they asked me to meet them at the reception area with proof of stay. When I get there, after I showed them my itinerary, the receptionist stated everything was okay and that I will not be charged an extra fee. Now my statement is saying otherwise because I was charged. Not only was the customer service from majority of the staff not the greatest but their property needs some up-keeping and cleaning . My family and I will not be coming back to the Moxy.

The room was very small, and not a lot of space for a family of 3. Everything else was fine.
