Moxy Miami South Beach

The vibe of this hotel is excellent! Loved the bar, pools, restaurants, employees, etc. However, we got to the hotel late and called in advance to let the hotel know. You would think they might have told us that every street in Miami was gated off! Nope! We had a very hard time finding the parking lot. Nearly impossible. They could’ve given us the address of the garage. Our friends also had a hard time getting to the garage and they were even later than we were. Once in our room, it was just so freakin small! Way too small for a family of four. The room actually put me in a bad mood every time we tried to get ready. Couldn’t wait to get out of there. Loved the rest of the hotel, but the room was awful so I wouldn’t stay there again.

Overall the hotel is nice. The rooms are small and cramped. This is more of a hotel for a couple, and not a family in that regards, if you don't want to be bumping into each other. Valet parking is expensive. They tell you it is $49 per night, but they don't tell you about the additional "Destination Fee" of $30 per day on top of that. Although there are no balconies and the windows do not open, I still recommend the ocean view rooms for that glimpse of the ocean in the mornings and evenings.

Service was good and accommodating. Pool area was nice. Not exactly kid friendly, not much for them to do but it was still a great stay. Rooms are small but provided under bed storage and a large rack.

First off the picture is deceiving they claim it’s ocean view. It is not. It is five blocks away. You barely see the ocean what you see is the dumpster and the other hotel and the other hotels they say it’s a two minute walk to the beach which is not. It’s almost 10 minutes you have to cross over three avenues, then they charge you a resort fee of $30 a night for the use of bikes and a Beach chair. I asked for an ocean view room and they said that’s an ocean view which is very deceiving the worst part is they have no space so if you’re going to come bring just a personal item they only have two pillows per bed and then all the garbage around the area stinks, the valet service was $50 per night. You can smell weed in the hallway. The pool was overcrowded with kids jumping in no control no lifeguard and no one telling anyone anything so swim at your own risk. The inside of the hotel does not look anything like the pictures. The only thing good about it it was on the strip where everything was located . Will I go there again not a chance.

Nice interior design, nice pool area although there’s sometimes kids running around and screaming. Rooms are lovely but the down side is there’s no refrigerator so can’t store food leftovers or drinks. Overall good experience.

Moxy was great, nice room, great location. It's bit loud because of the Bars until 11 pm, wouldn't recommend for young children but they lowered the music. So we could sleep.

I liked the hotel due to its funky design. The pool was cool with the window that you can see through into the lobby. The neat rooftop bar and pool. It was interesting. It was the smallest room I had ever been in. There is no closet but they do have little cubbies below the bed. But you could not stay there for more than a couple of days with your family. The one thing that bothered me was that Expedia wrote that it is free chairs at the beach. But when you get to the hotel they tell you it’s only two free chairs. More than that it costs $20 per chair. That would have been good to know as we would have brought our own. I asked at the front desk and they said it Expedia that can provide incorrect information. I also found the pool deck to be very dirty.

The hotel is great except if you have kids with you. The atmosphere is nice and always busy. Our room (double queen) was so incredibly small that it was not great for 3 people. No closet so our bags and clothes were all sitting out which made it hard to move around. The worst part is that the shower has a frosted glass window which faces the room. So when you shower, anyone in the room can see an image in the shower. In addition if you turn the bathroom light on at night, the entire room lights up because of that frosted shower window. Really poor design if you have kids in the room.

The bar and restaurant on floor 2 was excellent, however the staff at check-in was miserable. Also, we were clearly travelling with small children, but they chose to put us on the top floor under the rooftop DJ party that went to 11pm. We had to get up at 4am to travel home to Canada.
