DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Sunrise - Sawgrass Mills

This property used to be very good. I’ve stayed here for years with my family. This experience definitely wasn’t the best and the front desk staff needs to improve their handling of crisis and improve customer service. Some days we had 1’set of towels for a party of 3. Other times there was no shower gel. The service and quality of the rooms were poor and not to the usual standard I have been accustomed to at this location. Disappointed.

Overall I had a wonderful experience. I like that there was a fridge and microwave in the hotel room, very convenient. The welcome cookies were tasty it felt like visiting a family.

I experienced a huge inconvenience when checking in at this establishment. I was given a standard room despite paying for a deluxe suite. I was told that my reservation was “changed” (without my consent) and overlooked by a member who allowed the current guest of the deluxe suite to extend their stay. I was extremely disappointed since I was traveling with my family and needed the extra room to accommodate us all. Not to mention this was a special occasion. Definitely will not be booking with them again since they appear to be inconsistent with assigning the right room their guests PAY for.

Convenient hotel...good for shopping...nice staff. Stayed 4 nights with family.

I would highly recommend this as allace of stay anytime of day. I was able to get nice a room with quality service at the last minute having to aleep over one more night.... so thankful for accommodating my family and I.

Location...location...location...location. Close to my family.

The property was easy to locate. The staff were very nice. The check-in was fast. Plenty of parking. Across the street from Sawgrass Mills Mall. The breakfast buffet offered plenty of options minus lactose free milk but the food was well prepared and enjoyable for the $22. The hotel lobby and restaurant was clean. Offered Clorox wipes and hand sanitizer. Starbucks located in lobby which is also a plus. What I did not like was that I called prior to check-in to request new sheets and was advised that I wouldn't have to worry about this. Upon check in which was at 11 pm I asked for new sheets and advised again that the room was cleaned. Upon entering the room and preparing for bed, I noticed stains which appeared to be blood on several of sheets on one of my bed along with hair. A bloody band aid was located near by on the table which was gross. I immediately contacted the staff and was advised that housekeeping was gone and that they would comp breakfast for the incident. We had to remove all the sheets and use some of the sheets from the other bed so that me and my family were comfortable. I also removed all of the pillow cases because I'm sure none were changed either. For the cost of over $200 a night and for a 4 star rated hotel I had high hopes but, they failed in changing the sheets which has been a repeated offense I see in many hotels now a days. Other then this incident I have no other complaints. The cookies were warm and delicious as expected.

The area is gorgeous and within walking distance of Sawgrass Mills Mall which made it very appropriate for my family’s intention to shop. The area was also well lit at night and felt safe. Overall we were very satisfied with the hotel and it’s staff.

They canceled my reservation when arrived without my knowledge. It took me a long time to find a place for my family.
