Hampton Inn Ft Lauderdale-Plantation

I have stayed at Hampton in Plantation on several times. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It seems to be family oriented as I have seen several family at breakfast.The atmosohere is very homely.

Reserved because of high rating. No idea how they have this rating. Room had horrible mould smell. Sheets were dirty. Entire property is old and needs a Reno. Bathroom wallpaper was stapled all the way down a seam to hold together. Was at front desk when a family came down with a bed bug they captured. Front desk told them there was no more rooms but they would come and change the sheets.

This was our first time staying at the Hampton Inn. Was a little skeptical at first seeing all the negative reviews. Once we got there , our room was clean, beds were so comfortable. The staff at the front desk were great, one of the staff at the desk baked cookies, and had them at the front. My kids enjoyed it, they went back for more, and she made more, and called our room, so my kids could go down and get it. Amazing breakfast in the morning, only thing my husband doesn’t eat pork, and everything was pork, porksausage,bacon.

The pool was disgusting, was told it was from rain and the pool cleaner was on the property and would be cleaning it , the pool never got cleaned. There was a blower in our room and the carpet was damp. The breakfast area wasn't kept clean. Couldn't find a clean table to eat at. I had to clean one for us to use. On Friday evening when we checked in there was only on person at the desk. And several times family went to the desk and there was no one there to help. We will not be staying at Hampton inn again.

I like the continental breakfast and early check In. The pool area was fantastic! I love this hotel and spent a great time with family

Pet friendly and staff pleasant. Unfortunately lots of hallway noise due to kids baseball tournament taking place in area.

I should have listened to some of the reviews on here. First room: there was black mold on walls and ceiling and an intense musky smell. I asked for a different room and they first had to send their engineer to verify what I was saying. They didn’t just believe me. Second room: better but definitely could use a little TLC. Another issue is that on Expedia the hotel is classified as dog friendly and therefore I thought the price included our two dogs. I got there and was informed that there is supposed to be a charge for the dogs and I told them about Expedia. The manager on duty said sign the form and we’ll put a hold on your card but we won’t charge you. I thought well thats very nice of them considering what I’ve already gone through. Then, the dagger in the back. They charged me an additional $52 after they told me they would not. I called and told them the story again and they still would not refund the money. All I wanted them to be was honest and up front with their fees. If I knew this place was going to cost me nearly $200 for one night, I would not have stayed there and stayed with my family down the street. The breakfast was ok. I definitely feel like they just stole from me. Only one flavor of banana pancake mix was available when there should’ve been a plain flavor. Breakfast tables were sticky.

Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. My family and I arrived early from our trip, and the staff were able to make arrangements to let us check in before our set time, and even let us stay on the property after the checkout while we waited for our ride. The location of the hotel is also very convenient because there is a mall right by it. The hotel is very cleanly and well kept and overall a fantastic place to stay.

Pros: Our room was clean and stocked with coffee, towels, a working hairdryer, and other necessities. The area and hotel was quiet and safe. The complimentary breakfast was very good, offering a waffle bar, omelettes, and other great options. Cons: I called about shuttle service from FLL prior to flying in, explaining that I was arriving late. I was told just to call when I arrived. I did as instructed, but no one answered. Arriving by cab, I waited for 45 minutes at the desk waiting for someone to check my family in. This in spite of calling and knocking on every door we could find. The lobby and halls were in decent condition (appearing relatively new), but quite disorderly and unclean. Conclusion: In fairness to the day staff, most of my negative observations appeared to already be taken care of when I came down for breakfast the next morning. I would give this hotel another shot if I flew into Fort Lauderdale again to see if my experience was a one off, but only during regular business hours. I would hope to see a cleaner lobby and hallway area as well as a more prompt staff than I encountered at check-in.

The bed was hard . The pillows on the bed where too small like for kids . The hallway smell like urine and the carpet was spotted and dirty as if someone through up in front of the door. l was very disappointed but too tired to move on, the bathroom floors were sticky, The shower head had pink mold on it.
