Sheldon Hotel

The Sheldon is a nice hotel that gives you ease to move about the boardwalk. You are close to Margaritaville and the theatre so weekends are full of live music on the street's. The Sheldon is in the middle of doing a lot of updating to the hotel rooms, there is construction going on in the building. I will be excited to see the hotel completed. Our room had a king bed with an ocean view, windows do not open in the room. You can hear the people late night on the weekends on the boardwalk “ having fun” so be aware of this. During the week it was very quiet. We had a small coffee pot, microwave and mini frig. Each room came with 2 beach chairs and umbrella. The room also offers a safe to keeps things in one place and 24/7 free coffee in the lobby. We enjoy the Sheldon and their staff, it’s like coming home to family.

We booked here to be near family who were staying at Margaritaville right next door. That worked out great. The pros - it's a cute old Florida style hotel. The location can't be beat - right on the Broadwalk, and steps away from the sand. Lots of dining, and beach needs shopping nearby. The chairs and umbrella included in the $20 "resort fee" was nice. They also have towels by the desk on the way out. Good sized mini fridge in the room. The cons - it's showing it's age. We had some ceiling peeling in the small bathroom. Needed more towels in the bathroom. And a shelf. I had to put stuff on the windowsill. We could open our window to get some air, but I felt like if we pulled harder, the thing would fall out of the wall. There's no area to just sit outside by the Broadwalk - no tables and chairs to just lounge. Also, no pool, just in case you missed that.

We loved this hotel. You walk out of the lobby and you’re a few feet from the beach. They give you two beach chairs and an umbrella which saves a ton of money since rentals in the beach are so expensive. Rooms are small but they’re nice and clean. The location is what makes this place shine. Being next to Margaritaville means there’s a lot of fun action and security presence. So restaurants near by. Some fancy, some super casual. The only negative is that there’s no pool which was fine for me, but might be missed if you brought kids.
