Marriott Fort Lauderdale Airport

I enjoyed my stay, I’m mostly definitely choosing this property and I will be referring my friends and family to stay here.

Arrived late in the evening with my two young kids after a delayed flight. My room was prepaid with Expedia. Unfortunately I lost my credit cards in transit. They denied me check in as I didn’t have an actual physical cc with me for the $50 deposit required. I offered them $1000 cash and my passport as security but this wasn’t good enough. No manager on duty. Receptionist called the off duty manager and he still denied me the check in even with the security I offered them. We ended up at an Airbnb motel not too far away around midnight. Terrible service and lack of understanding.

I was here for a few days before a cruise. I also stayed here back in April for a different cruise. It's a very convenient property as it's located near the airport, cruiseport, and a number of restaurants. The guy at the front desk, Demetrious, is terrific. He should be a manager. A few negatives this time. I checked in on a Thursday night and all day Friday the room was not cleaned. Demetrious had to call housekeeping three times. The room wasn't cleaned again Saturday and then I had to ask the front desk again on Sunday. It's so strange to me this is the only Marriott I've been to that doesn't have guest laundry or a laundry service. The cruise shuttle did not even show up at 9:55, I waited 30 minutes with other customers, we ended up getting a taxi. Additionally, the m club is like a playground for children. There was kids running in and out of there all day long Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Totally inappropriate for customers who pay extra for that service. Parents need to keep track of their kids or be asked to leave the property.

It is a brand new hotel so cleanliness and quality of the facilities was great no doubt but the service was nowhere close to par. They provide airport transfers but it took more than 2 hours for them to pick us up. Unfortunately, we couldn’t take a taxi or ride share since we had two kids and no car seats with us. They also gave us the wrong room (one king bed vs. two queen beds we booked). Upon calling the front desk they of course claimed that they were fully booked and that they gave us the room with “promenade view” as if it was going to make up for lack of comfort. The wait staff at the restaurant and the bar tender were excellent however and hence I didn’t take off all the stars from the review.
