Holiday Inn New London - Mystic Area, an IHG Hotel

We had an issue checking in - they claimed that my credit card was declined, yet the charge was on my credit card bill 3 weeks before our check-in. I told them that I was NOT going to let them charge my credit card again. Hotels.com was amazing and called the hotel right away and the new employee was able to figure out a solution to the problem (without the help of her manager who wouldn't return her text or call). I appreciate the helpfulness of this employee! We also were only given 1 adult free breakfast coupon when we checked in with 1 adult and 3 children (each child was supposed to get a free breakfast coupon as well). Finally, we saw a mouse run across the restaurant. However, the double queen room (and bathroom) was very large, the beds were comfortable, the hotel was clean and quiet, and the parking lot was well-lit at night. It was also 800 feet from an amazing coffeehouse (since the breakfast was NOT great - but at least it was free).

Nice hotel great, staff , restaurant was excellent , Super easy to get too , perfect spot if you’re going to go to Ocean Beach mystic or take fairies to block, reasonably priced Area around the hotel was OK could’ve used more secure lot parking signs, stating not responsible for lost or stolen property in parking lot were a little concerning But I would recommend the hotel and stay there again, very clean and pleasant did not feel so sure on walking around the city area with kids at night tho , but felt fine on the grounds or in the property at night.. hotel 5 stars , area prob 3.5 convenience 4.5

Staff was rude No coffee or breakfast, people from bar were loud & obscene. Not a place for children!!

We heard the door to the stairwell slam all night, myself and my family were not able to sleep a wink.

Other than the key cards not working and having to go back and forth for a new one, the advertised pool is not and “indoor “ pool per say, the water was temped for a warm summer day but the pool area was freezing. I booked here because of the pool for the kids……

Great location and stuff at restaurant and bar where excellent and nice , pool was great my kids love that

So convenient to the train and accommodating for babies and elderly!

I left to go out with the kids and explore Mystic and we came back at 10pm and there was no parking because there was a wedding going on and all of the wedding guests parked at the hotel, when i asked the front desk person, they said they didn't plan for this well so just drive around until you see someone leave. I had kids in the car ar 10pm and shouldn't have to drive around looking for a spot. I specifically made sure before i booked the room that parking was included. Then we went to our room and the loud music from the wedding party was going on until after 11pm and there should be a noise ordinance for hotel guests. I paid too much money for this place and could have stayed at a lower star hotel and had better service.

The staff at this hotel is so responsive and friendly. Same with the restaurant in the lobby. The decor may be a little old but the rooms are clean and beds are comfy. We like to stay there we visit our son and his family.

It was really disappointing look outside for tourism, parking available at our risk as cameras not available for our protection, cleaning was done every 4 days, charged $15 for breakfast that is complimentary everywhere else, charged $100 deposit when even hotels by Hilton only $25, no laundry, only one washer and dryer on 2nd floor and broken all 5 day stay. Cable channel choices didn’t have at least nick jr, or Disney jr or any family channel for toddlers, their wifi didn’t recognize us as current in room so had to use own hot spots. I liked that the room was comfortable in size and looked clean. The pool water was heated so not frozen cold, and I liked the places to visit nearby, but I expected a different look from the online pictures, specially for the price.
