Hyatt Place Mystic

for the price paid per night, we were not happy. the air conditioner roared on during the night and was so loud it woke us up 3 times. the walls between rooms are paper thin, kids were screaming and came right thru the walls. the "breakfast " was an assortment of looked like fake scrambled eggs, and tons of sugery offerings like cerals, blah waffles, fake syrups. the fruit bowl was unripe and hard melons, the strawberries were thawed (barely) frozen fruit. nothing healthy or good for you was offered, just slop for people who dont care what they put in themselves. the "gym" was 3 cardio bikes in a tiny room.. no weights, machines, nothing. as stated, for over 400 a nite it fell far short of what a 400 a nite room should have offered.

Had a pleasant stay. The hotel is very close to Olde Mistick Village and Mystic Aquarium, and just a short drive to Downtown Mystic. We stayed in a two double bed room. The room was large, but oddly configured. Beds and a small bathroom are crammed to one side of the room with the bathroom sink being right in front of the beds. There’s a large sitting room with a pullout sofa and desk on the other side, but lots of wasted space. Would have been great if there was a table and chairs in that space. There is one tv that is shared between the two sections. The room would great for large families who need the pullout sofa and maybe some cots. Despite the odd configuration the room was clean and beds were comfortable.

It was a great option for our family of five. The room looks recently updated. The plus was we were 5 minutes or less from all the attractions.

Our room was large but very poorly designed. Basically it was an empty room with the pull out couch. The tv was not really in either part the bedroom or sitting room. It was hard to watch. I was very disappointed.. The windows were filthy you could not look out. Not comfortable at all! Breakfast food was good but the area used for the buffet was way too small and very crowded. All in all breakfast was not a pleasant experience. Based on the reviews on hotels.com and the high rating the hotel received and the price. I expected something so much better and comfortable. The pool was great for the children.

Staff were sup r friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and spacious. Not thrilled about the 75 dollar pet cleaning fee but understand. It was great being able to have the fur baby with me. 10:10

The hotel was under slight renovation when we arrived. The rooms were spotless, they were modern and the decor was pleasing. The hallway had new carpets which had a slight new carpet smell which wasn’t too bad. The new doors for the rooms were beyond loud, my 15 month old would jump anytime someone opened a door in the hallway. I tried my best to close our door quietly but they all slam extremely loud. The bathroom door was hard to close while you are on the toilet, and the pipes where the sink are were exposed in our room and it was hard to keep our toddler away from them. I really loved the hotel but the loud banging of the doors on the 2nd floor at all hours was extremely frustrating and made it very difficult for us to sleep comfortably.

We travel to Mystic at least once per year and we always stay here. It is a great choice, also we travel with our family.

Accommodations and service were great, but the noise and construction were unacceptable for us. Lots of kids running through the hallways and listening to banging and sanding machines above us was not very relaxing.

They had a family reunion on the last night of our stay. The kids were very loud, yelling and running up and down the halls at midnight. Our room was on first floor near the lobby and I can not believe the staff did not have them quiet down. We were dealing with the noise from around 10 until well after midnight. Totally unacceptable and will not be going back to this property again. We have stayed here before with no issues. The staff totally Did not care how disruptive this party was.

Quiet and Safe, great for families. Close to shops and coffee.
