Hampton Inn & Suites Hartford-Manchester

We showed up after the check in time and rooms weren’t ready due to staffing. I didn’t think they spoke professionally about the situation. The girl at the front was eating gummy bears while we were talking to her at the front desk. We walked around the area and sat inside while our room was quickly being cleaned. Other families came and checked in while we waited instead of telling them we were next to get a room. Just wasn’t handled well. Our rooms were updated though compared to other Hampton Inns that I’ve stayed at. Many options for dining nearby. Nothing fancy.

It was a great spot to use as a base in Manchester while seeing family and working remotely.

Was in town for an "end of summer family party" Check in was a breeze.. Front desk was very helpful. Rooms were spacious and very clean. The bathroom appeared to be recently remodeled.. Loved the size of the shower. My wife bragged how comfy the bed was. Would definitely like to stay again next year.

Had 2 rooms, the "Assessible " room had plenty of space but bathroom was not Assessible. I questioned if the beds were going to hold us. Very rickety and noisy. Cheap beds. Rolling desk chair all scratched up. The other room when entered, someone hasd left tub running and was at the verge of running over and wouldn't drain so the rest of the family got moved to a different floor

It was great. Big rooms, nice breakfast, great gym. Only downside was there was a lot of kids staying there and they took ovwr the pool so couldnt swim.

We needed a place to stop for one night to break up a longer drive with our 12 month old baby. This hotel worked well for us. The staff who checked us in were friendly and check in was very quick. Our bed was comfortable, and there was a lot of room for a pack and play (crib). We had a quiet night, and breakfast had a lot of fresh options and kid friendly foods. The space to eat was open and nice and clean. We wish had thought to bring bathing suits for the pool, but didn't have them for this trip. My husband let our son put his feet in for a few minutes so I could pack up. The other guests we encountered were all friendly, too. Overall it was very convenient, efficient, and fit our needs well. The staff was very on top of things!

Our stay was alright. When we got there our shower was disgusting, still had quite a bit of water in the tub. The bathroom door also did not shut. The furniture was chipped and tv outdated. The room next to us we saw at least 8 people in an out of it including kids who were running around and very loud. Overall place could use a good cleaning and an upgrade. The staff however were great and friendly. Morning breakfast was also ok. Big mess from the guest during breakfast Buffett. We did not go in the pool but it did look nice! However, the elevator were sometimes filled with water assuming from guest leaving the pool and one of the walls in the elevator was basically falling off. So overall the place was ok. Most likely would go somewhere else next time.

The woman who checked us in was extremely friendly and helpful, I believe her name was Tasha or Tara. My son and I went to the pool, there was an employee pool side who watched us enter the pool and swim for approx 5 minutes before telling us he needed to close it for testing. We found out later (after asking about a time frame for reopening) that a child had pooped in the pool and it needed to be closed for cleaning. I can not figure out why this man watched us get into the pool and swim in the first place! Secondly, having someone bang on your door at 9:30 am asking when you are planning on checking out is not something I have ever encountered while staying at a hotel. We will not be returning to the hotel again.

We chose hotel for proximity to UConn. Location had a lot of food options within walking distance if you don’t mind walking across parking lots. Front desk staff was friendly. Free breakfast bar had both hot and cold food options as well as healthy fare. Gym was decent and in a central safe location. Rooms were decent with high ceilings but a bit dated and not much natural light. Beds were very uncomfortable and needed to be replaced (probably why renovations are occurring on some floors). So getting a good night sleep is everything for a hotel visit so would not return again for this reason. And I say this as a person who travel weekly for business, this is one of the worst mattresses I can recall since my student days and staying in cheapo roadside motels 30 years ago. My other family members also complained including the young ones.
