The Steamboat Grand

A family ski trip

I've been staying in our family home in Steamboat for 40 years. Because of special circumstances we needed to stay in a hotel for two days. Knowing every nook and cranny of Steamboat we could not have been more impressed with the Steamboat Grand. The room was huge, completely accommodating and more than we could've asked for at this price point. It was only two of us but absolutely would return with two college kids and even friends. The kitchen had everything we needed. The bathroom was huge. The fireplace and view were perfect reminders of the beauty of Steamboat on a chilly fall night. Having "Market" and restaurant/bar on site is great. The pool and gym are terrific and the location can't be beat. Staff was lovely. If ever another opportunity we would certainly stay again.

We loved our spacious one bedroom suite. It was plenty of room for our family with separation from the kids. They were great appliances in the room. We enjoyed the little details such as hooks by the front door and an entry table to keep jackets, wallets, etc. We stayed in July and there was plenty of parking available in the garage. The bell staff kept our bikes safe and locked away so that we didn't have to put them in the parking garage. I don't like to take my chances with expensive MTBs. There is a great Thai restaurant right outside the hotel and it was just across the street to get to the gondola and other activities. We will definitely stay here again!

Shortly after overhearing the pool staff discussing “getting the night off” due to a small afternoon storm in the distance - a staff member began shouting to get out of the pool then going group to group to evacuate the pool deck due to lightening. We began to gather our things despite feeling like having the night off was more important than her guests experience, whilst hurrying us out, shut the umbrella on my head. At which time this woman is telling us to leave our belongings and we can pick them up at the front desk. Mind you the weather had not rolled in yet and blue skies were still very much showing. We had our baby with us and we’re attempting to organize as this need for evacuation came quite rapidly. This woman was extremely rude and her behavior was unnecessary. It was a negative encounter and so much so, we don’t think we will return to this hotel in the future.

Stayed over memorial weekend with family and had a great time. Would come back with extended family for a getaway.

we had grand kids and the pool /spa area was perfect, the Cabin was fair to good for food with several restaurants nearby to pick from. All good!

We had a wonderful time at the grand. The condo is huge and have lots of area for families and friends. We really enjoyed our stay.

The hotel is stunning! The pool and hot tub - amazing! The only complaint is the beds could use some updating. Will definitely be back with the family!
