Grand and elegant, it's beauty as a facility is unmatched. The service in the bars and restaurants was slow and inefficient, a sign of lack of training and managerial ineffectiveness. The cigar bar closes at 11, but they stop serving at 10? Are you kidding? The room was comfortable and clean and had nice amenities but... 1. Apparently the walls are paper thin as my neighbor pounded on the wall to turn my TV off at 11pm 2. A horrible, swamp gas smell was in the bathroom, engineering and housekeeping has to come and address it.

Rooms are falling apart. Place needs to be gutted and remodeled. Paint literally falling off the walls; furniture is beat up; no electrical receptacles to be found; 1st room had broken A/C, dead phone, and half the lights didn’t work. I asked for it to be fixed or move me to a different room. They gave me a much smaller and equally crappy room. Then they moved me to another room that was clearly a downgrade. The fourth room is still a downgrade, but at least the lights work. I would recommend that all members of my family and all of my friends avoid this hotel. The Kimpton Hotel Monaco, where I stayed two weeks ago, was far better and has a much better restaurant.

Please, whatever you do - DO NOT BOOK THIS PROPERTY. I was beyond disappointed with our stay. Upon entering our room, we noticed it was extremely small and did not match the images on line. Our TV did not work or turn on at all. The peep hole was wide open and bright. It made us feel unsafe in the room- like someone can look right in. The bottom of the door had a two inch gap. Again, we felt unsafe that someone can slide anything underneath or access the door handle to open it. The vents were also right above the door and not only could we hear loud noises all night and noisy guests roaming the halls, but we felt anyone can put something through there and get into our room. The trimmings on the floor and door frames were peeling everywhere. Multiple people were even talking about how haunted the hotel was - real great to listen to right before bed. They gave us a hard time after airing our grievances mainly about feeling unsafe. We checked in late and had an early flight out and did not want to go through the trouble of changing rooms, so we did not ask. I understand that is on us. We did ask for some compensation for our disappointment due to the lack of detail they provide on these websites and wrongful images posted. The area did not feel safe. The street was blocked off by cops and one block down were lined with tents. Couldn't wait to get out of there fast enough. Please, do yourself a favor, ESPECIALLY if you have children, do not stay at this hotel.
