We attended a family wedding in town. The Lumberjack was a close location to the venue. Likes: clean room, recently renovated, comfy bed and great staff. Dislike: lack of available parking space, we had to park a block away.

Room was nice overall, but bedcover was a bit dirty. The bathroom sliding barn door was cute, but not maintained, and it was extremely hard to slide (I had to help my family do it). Very nice staff, but not enough in the morning-- Continental breakfast staff (also the front desk attendant) was overwhelmed and couldn't keep up with the flow, running out of things repeatedly, and no water.
Might stay again, despite the issues.

Mostly positive experience:
Beds are comfy
All the furnishings are pretty new
Love there use of technology for casting shows from your phone or laptop
Staff is friendly
Room was very clean
Well situated - to restaurants and things to do
My family enjoyed the pool that is part of the property
Improvements - was on the bottom floor (100's room) and the people above us made a lot of noise walking around
If you get a room with 2 Queens - one of the beds is pushed right up next to the AC - wasn't a big deal - but was a touch tight
Overall would go again.

This hotel was recently completely remodeled and everything was new and clean. However, the room was VERY small. The bed next to the window was touching the air conditioner and you had to crawl from the foot of the bed to get in if you’re sharing with someone else. In order to walk around the room other people have to move or sit somewhere else so you can get around. They put in a sliding barn door as the bathroom door, which helps with the small space, but there’s no privacy. When you’re having a conversation the person in the bathroom is easily included and you can hear everything they’re doing too. All of the checkin, hotel lobby, dining and pool are across the street at the sister hotel. The parking was my biggest issue. It’s first come first serve. The person in the lobby told me it was listed on the site as first come first serve, I went through the whole Expedia listing and it only says free self parking. We got in really late and there was no parking my husband dropped the kids and I off with all of our luggage and we got to make 3 trips up 2 flights of stairs while he found public parking for our car. Everyone who worked at the hotel was very personable and it was very nice to be right in downtown Sonora.

Pros: Great location near Sonora downtown. Remodeled rooms with a modern touch. Friendly staff.
Cons: We got no rest. Very old building with tiny rooms and paper thin walls; you can hear everything going on in other rooms (kids yelling, pets barking/whining, seks, etc). Caved in jello mattresses are very uncomfortable.

The housekeeping staff was wonderful and delighted my children by arranging their "stuffies" every time our room was made up. Keep up the good work.

The breakfast was ok. Big complaint is the insulation between first and second floor. Could hear every step taken above. Since there were children it was twice as bad

It was fine for a one night stay. There was no toilet paper in our room and no lock on the bathroom. The bathroom barn door was cute was not functional. The written threat of being charged $25 for a stained towel was off putting - especially since the towel that is used as a bathmat was disgusting before we were even able to use it. I'm assuming our price was so high because it was a Friday night but the room was absolutely not worth the price. Would not have booked for a normal vacation but we needed something quick for a family wedding in the area. There is no pool on the grounds - it's across the street at the Sonora Inn - and also where you need to go to check in/out.

It is a newly remodeled motel not a hotel. That was a disappointment. The rooms are nice but small for a family and very noisy. The housekeeping laundry is loud, doors closing and even people talking in the parking lot are loud in the room.
