The Hotel Oceanside

Stayed at this property when it was a major chain. It was our preferred location. Went to check in and girl asked if I was aware of the $200 deposit. I said okay and handed her my card to which she replied “it has to be cash”. I was blown away. I’ve traveled all over the world : London, Paris, Peru, New Zealand etc and never have I ever had to give a cash deposit. I told her that no one carry’s that much cash on them anymore. She then pointed to the ATM behind me. I was stuck. No other rooms in town. How did I know she wasn’t going to pocket it? At the end I did get the cash back. Front door always locked Back door near parking area non accessible now. TV stations horrible. Got 3 networks, pbs, qvc and some Spanish stations. No cartoons for kids. What a bunch of cheapskates. Crack in ceiling and drywall peeling there. Not friendly Never again

Hotel room large and clean. We had a stroller and child. Really disappointed that the elevator was down our entire stay. Staff kept saying it just happened was going to be fixed. This was a big inconvenience. We had to go up 3 flight of stairs with a stroller and Child.

Very pleasant and friendly. We will recommend to friends and family.

We were pleasantly surprised with the pet friendly hotel. There was plenty of room to walk the dog and pick up supplies were provided at three different locations in the parking lots around flower beds. This cute hotel recently rehabbed with charming colors and expertise on how to prevent those little things that make a place look worn before it’s time and makes upkeep easier. We were very pleased and impressed. We have definitely found a gem and will be using this Oceanside haven when we visit our family in the area . Just wonderful !!!

It was a very good experience for my family. The room was clean and it exceeded our expectation. We will definitely come back to this hotel. Since it's a suite room and has kitchenette--I hope they will provide a dining table for the guests to use.

This is a Fantastic place for the money. Very clean , friendly service too. The reviews we read almost made us not choose the Hotel Oceanside. Glad we did. The bad reviews must be people with issues. The $200 deposit scared us from the reviews. There are no issues getting your deposit back. We'll be staying at the Hotel Oceanside again in the near future and we're going to recommend this hotel to our friends and family.

It was close to Legoland and also to the beach. Rooms were clean, showers were hot, it was very quiet at night and we enjoyed having a full size refrigerator and a little stove to cook our dinners. Saved us some money. Check in took longer than it really should have though...about 10-15 min. per family, it seemed. And there appeared to only be one luggage trolley, so we had to make several trips up and down the elevator and to the parking lot in the back because we never had a chance to use it...on check in or check out.

We did not stay here. When we pulled in there were people LIVING in the parking lot. They would not let me put a credit card down and only wanted cash, what??? And then said I could withdraw said cash from the ATM in the lobby. Again, what??The entire family of the woman at the form desk were sitting in the lobby across from the desk which was odd. When the pay arrangements were not acceptable and seemed very shady, we decided to stay elsewhere. I would not recommend this hotel.

The ladies at the front desk were extremely rude, unhelpful, racist, and discriminated against my wife and I. The hotel lobby was disorganized and the front desk lady had all of her kids running around in the lobby while she was doing her friends makeup in the "market place" room. It took her 10 minutes before she even decided to come help us. After she came to the front she was extremely rude and snappy and acted like we were inconveniencing her. She wouldn't let me check in my parents room that was booked by myself on my credit card. The hotel smelled horrible, the location was very "ghetto" and there were many homeless people on and around the property. Multiple prostitutes standing in front of the hotel. Overall I would stay far away from this hotel. We ended up booking a room at the comfort suites about a block away and it was night and day different!

Paid for two queen beds but gave us full beds. The front desk lady had her kids with her. The worst part was that they didn’t want to give me my deposit back because they assumed I was vaping in the room. Which makes no sense because I was with my kid brother.
