The Fin Hotel, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

I am a Hilton Honors member, worked in hospitality, have friends/family in the industry, and I have stayed here 20+ times. I called on Friday to try to change my reservation and the GM, Stan wouldn't approve it. The hotel was completely booked so it's not a numbers thing... I had previously called at the beginning of October and spoken w/him to confirm and he verified that the day was wrong and he changed it. So...Stan's LIE about not being able to change the dates is absolute BS!!! I had a fever and I am under the weather. With COVID on the rise, one would think that he wouldn't hesitate to change the date, infecting other guests and staff could be detriment to the hotel. And for what exactly? Because he could? Not a happy guest!

Online it said that we were going to have a bathtub, that was one reason why we chose this place to stay because we needed a bathtub for our 3 year old. There was no bath tub at all. The room is unsafe for children. We were in room 202. The window can be easily opened and someone can fall a far drop and get very hurt. I had to constantly moniter the window because our 3 year old wanted to play by it because the room is very limited on space. The business next to the hotel wa blasting loud music and loud bass all night long. From 10pm - 12am i was lying there trying to sleep but couldnt because our window was shaking from the bass and the walls were not so thick. The guest service told us its $25 extra for parking but because of the internet being out of service they gave us a free parking permit... If im ataying at your hotel you should already inquire parking and not dump an additional $25 fee for the worlds smallest parking lot. Other than that everything else was okay.

A different type of hotel. The bathroom is open, if our kids would have been with us, it would have not worked. People above us were very loud!!!

The property itself was very clean. The room they put us in was very small, the shower and sink are in the room itself right outside the bed. The toilet was in a private very small room. We would have been ok with that, due to the fact we were in Oceanside to visit family, so we just needed a bed. However when we returned to the hotel after an evening of visiting family, we were greeted by a clerk, who asked us if we needed to be checked in, we said we already were. With that, he said I am going to go and check the outside parameter, didn’t think much about that, until we went to our room, it had a sign on the door that said OUT OF ORDER! My husband used his key card to open it to find glass shattered all over the room, we quickly closed the door, went to find the clerk, who was no where in site, there was no one at the front desk, we yelled out, looking for someone, nothing!! We didn’t know what to do, felt stranded and confused. Finally the clerk came back, he could see we were very upset, told us that a homeless man was agitated and threw a brick through our room window!!! He then said there is another room for us and took us to the room. He did not offer to help us retrieve our belongings from the room that was vandalized, my husband went back to the room to get our things, glass everywhere, shaking it off our personal pillows!! We should have received a phone call!! Telling us first hand! We should have been told the moment we walked into the door! Not left hanging!
