SpringHill Suites by Marriott San Diego Carlsbad

This is hotel was just right for our family of 5 for 5 nights. Room was spacious with desk perfect for a little work mixed in. Directly across from the beach with lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. Hotel provides towels for you to bring to the beach. Breakfast was ok, everyday was different but not a lot of options. Upstairs has a rooftop bar and small menu. Great place to sit and enjoy the view. We will be back!

This hotel is one of the best I had the pleasure of staying with my family. It's clean, great staff, and close to beach, Legoland, and restaurants of all sorts. The only problem was our upstairs, (we were on the 1st floor) the family had zero control of their kids. So when it was time for us to put our kids to sleep, it was just horrendous. The noise, jump running, and evening talk can be heard from our room directly beneath theirs. My tips would be, if you want good rest, please pick the top (3rd Fl). Don't make them mistake I did, both me, my wife, and my kids suffered. The front desk did made effort, but that family was ridiculous.

The property itself is nice, and in a great location. I've been coming to the village of carlsbad for 25 years on vacations. The rooms are nice, except that i found several long black hairs throughout the room. I can handle a lot of things when it comes to hotels, but hair is not one of them. That is unacceptable, especially in a brand new hotel, and how much i paid for a Monday and Tuesday night. I told the front desk, and they said all they could do is have a housekeeper come up the next morning and clean the room again at around 9:00 am. I asked if i could switch rooms, and then i got a bit of an attitude from the front desk employee, they said... "that's absolutely not possible, we have no more rooms, and you were already told that housekeeping would be there at 9:00 to pick up the hair." I told them that's great, but my kids need to take a shower tonight, and there is three long black hairs in the shower.. then with a very rude tone, i was told that the hotel has done everything in there power, and i need to just wait until the following morning.

What an amazing location!! Steps from the beach, a great rooftop and friendly staff. Every part of this place was spotless. Thanks for an amazing family vaca spot!!
