Beach Terrace

We arrived on a beautiful and sunny day in January. Unfortunately it is not possibile to use the pool area before check-in at 4:00pm which is literally the end of the day in winter. We had to use the public access (next to the hotel) to the beach and waited there for our room to be ready. It was a pitty especially for our kids because the next and final day the weather was not good so we couldn’t use the pool at all. We found some sand and beach toys on day 2, would have been great to use it the day before but we had no access to that either. Next time we would probably go with a big chain hotel because in our experience its usually not a big deal to use the facilities before check-in or after check-out. It may be a problem that only occurs on sunny days in the winter time but for us it kind of damaged the overall experience at this hotel. The rooms and lobby area are very nice and the people working there are very friendly (although not super helpful due to their policies). At the end of our stay we realized that the charges (amenity fee and taxes) were higher as estimated by hotels.com. I don’t know why but I accepted it.

This property was amazing. Right on a gorgeous beach with access from the pool. I could hear the waves crashing onto the beach during the night, the views were amazing. The attention to detail and friendly staff made this an incredible experience that I can’t wait to share with family and friends again soon!

Hotel was short walking distance to downtown and restaurants. My stay was wonderful, there were plenty sand toys for the kids. Staff was excellent and friendly. Hotel was right next to the beach!!! The Valet for the chairs and umbrellas were such a great idea!!

It is a good location and friendly staff. However, it is not good for couples. Those who have kids might like it. The pool is for the kids. And they charge the resort fee like bottled water and it ends only two bottled water at the beginning. The AC is old style and noisy so we do not want to use it at night.

The property is located in a good area, it is nice and the room was big with ocean views. The real problem is that the walls are paper thin!!! I was there having a nice weekend with my husband and there was a family with children next door. You could hear every bit of their conversations, the tv, and their kids playing. We were trying to have peaceful mornings and it was impossible.

We loved our stay at Beach Terrace! It has been beautifully renovated with a very spa-like feel in the lobby so right at check-in, the relaxation begins! We had a pool and ocean view room which was amazing! A very large space with a good-sized balcony that we put to good use sitting outside and listening to the crashing waves. The location is perfect! You are on the beach! Starbucks and all the restaurants in the village are just a couple of blocks away. We did not use our car for our entire stay. My most favorite part was the beach valet :) Going to the beach with kids and only having to carry a bag with sunscreen and some snacks was heaven! They have super cute chairs, umbrellas, blankets and towels and can set them up for you in minutes! Finally, the staff was perfect! Friendly faces everywhere we went. Someone was in the office 24/7 and they were always helpful and accommodating!! I found a new happy place and can’t wait to go back!

Beautiful place on the ocean, walking distance to Carlsbad village, very nice pool and jacuzzi. Very friendly staff set up chairs on the beach. Boogie boards and beach toys were also available. Breakfast was delivered in the morning. Only complaint was the noise of the delivery trucks near our room. We were in room 39 close to the street but we did have a view of the ocean. The noise wasn’t early. We enjoyed our family stay with our adult children.

Hotel was nearly perfect for my honeymoon except there was a lot of kids running around. I guess that’s perfect for people who have kids though!

Our family had a lovely stay - we wish we could have stayed longer! The hotel is in a prime spot, while also being very quiet. Loved being beach-side!

It was a perfect stay for our family - great location to downtown Carlsbad. Beautiful beach. Concierge service was friendly and accommodating on the beach. 10/10 recommend
