Saw a dog pile of 6 people fist fighting on the streets. Kept getting woken up by a small group of kids across the water LITERALLY screaming at the top of their lungs like psychopaths, Homeless and Crack heads patrolling the train tracks looking for handouts

The breakfast is apparently continental, but it’s basically a snack and a drink. When it’s fully stocked it’s just coffee, juice cereal, muffin, or a piece of fruit. Except it was never fully stocked during our stay so we usually just had a stale cookie and a cup of coffee. I did complain a couple of times, and in the the head chef was very understanding and gave us bacon and eggs one morning to make up for the poor service. One of the cleaners was frequently using the F word very loudly outside our room door whilst talking to reception, I don’t personally find this word offensive but I it definitely was just another reminder the hotel wasn’t running to a higher standard. That said, despite the language, our room was very clean. The boat itself is really cool (but a little tired) and I love old Sacramento, but due to the homeless situation and drug use it’s no longer a place for children in my view. This is obviously not the hotels fault but something for families to bare in mind. I would say for adults only I would recommend staying here for a night just for the experience, but certainly not worth staying longer than that. I really loved this hotel a decade ago and I’m disappointed that my review this time isn’t more complimentary.

Service was excellent. Our room was a bit small but very comfortable. All of the staff, servers, bartenders, hosts made us feel like family. Very friendly and courteous. Food was great and not overly priced. What an enjoyable experience. We will be back.

The room was clean, breakfast delicious, and I enjoy Delta King itself. Unfortunately the area in Old town Sacramento is now very noisy. Party boats blasted incredible loud music as they passed up and down the river until well after 2 AM! Meanwhile, cars cruising the streets were quite annoying. I definitely will not be visiting Old Town Sacramento again until the city takes steps to return the area to a family friendly environment.

This stay was a very disappointing one. First of all, let me say that our awful stay had nothing to do with the staff! They were as pleasant and helpful as possible. Our room was clean and bigger than expected for a river boat cabin. But the room was noisy and the bed was awful!!! We were booked for 2 nights but left at 4am on the 1st night because we did not get any sleep. Our room was on the riverside and so we expected boats to pass and sea lion noise (from another review). But just our luck that Alexia was celebrating her 21st birthday and must have had friends on either side of us because we heard Clydesdales (heels on wooden deck) walking back and forth in front of our room all night. They must have been flashing the boats passing by because boats would blast music and Alexia and her gang would shout out to them and we could hear cheering. Now, I remember thurning once upon a time & was willing to let that go if there was a comfortable bed in the room. The hotel cannot anticipate the type of guest that book them or are not responsible for river noise. But i do hold them completely responsible for having a terrible bed! I can only imagine how drunk I would have to be to get any sleep at all on that bed. I'm sure Alexia & her friends slept like babies!

Great and fun location. Would have been perfect for my family if it had not been a solo trip. Sadly did not get to enjoy breakfast due to an early flight.
