We have stayed at the Nakoma every year in Dec. for a weekend since they opened (covid year excluded). We love the property and the amenities. The last two years have been less than acceptable. For two years straight the heat in our room did not work and they couldn't fix it and couldn't move our room because they only have 1 pet friendly room (not true as I saw 2 other families with pets staying at the hotel). Putting space heaters in the room and telling us to run them only if absolutely necessary since they are a fire hazard, in winter in a blizzard! In addition, this year the pool was closed as the heater wasn't working, ok I get it things happen, but then we go to get in the hot tub and the jets are pushing out cold water and the showers in the locker room don't work. Finally, we were sitting in the lobby with friends at 7 pm one evening enjoying the fire and xmas tree and were told that the lobby isn't a place to socialize. So, to stay for amenities isn't a reason anymore and also if we want heat and to bring our pet isn't an option either. I'm extremely disappointed and there is never an apology or offer of help or solution when I inquire about things not working. Looks like our time at this property is ending and will stay at another local hotel.

Beautiful, modern resort with world class golf, spa, and dining plus so many more fun activities and amenities like pool, trails, children’s play room, basketball, etc. Impeccable customer service. Fun for all ages. Booked my next stay already- this will be an annual tradition.

Took my little kids for a snow trip. It was wonderful up there. Lots to do, great rooms, service, food and lots to do for me and the kids. Can’t wait to come back during the spring or fall and play some golf. Great stay!!

We've stayed at the property since the year it opened and it's always fun. The kids love the pool and the rock wall. This year was a bit rough since the heating was broken in our room in the middle of a winter snow storm and so they put a portable heater in our room which did not regulate heat well. Other than that the staff was great and the one night that the grease traps weren't frozen at the restaurant was delicious. We'll still come back just hope everything is fixed up by next year.

Booked this place because my family and I were going to wedding. We needed an early check in and the staff at the front desk made that possible for us. He also informed us about nearby places for food and fun activities and how to get to the wedding venue. Place was clean rooms were comfortable. Nice view from our windows. A very accommodating and welcoming hotel.

Skip the crowds of Tahoe and go here instead! A really lovely and fun place to stay. Very clean, comfortable, well appointed, and a great price. Includes continental breakfast which isn't listed on the website. (Note that "forest view" is more of a view of the parking lot with the forest around it. We will choose "golf course view" next time) The Altitude Recreation center was a great place to entertain our family for much of our 3 day stay. Very reasonable price for the resort fee with all the amenities you get with the Rec Center and the Clubhouse + Spa. Dinner at the Wigwam room was yummy, the architecture is beautiful and so is the view. My husband enjoyed running on the trails and I look forward to returning when there is snow! The manager and his family were very friendly and really warmed our experience too. Thanks!
