Moxy Oakland Downtown

There was no parking included and then there was not even valet service. We spent almost an hour looking for a parking spot instead of relaxing in our hotel on a 24 hour getaway for my birthday as a mom of two kids. Very frustrating. And the the mini fridge was so noisy, turning on and off all night, we couldn't sleep. This hotel was not worth the price.

The service at his hotel is 10 stars! They are friendly, professional, accommodating, and knowledgeable. I felt like I was part of the family there. Fresh coffee in the morning, snacks at night. Lovely views. Very cute lobby and adorable bar. The manager, front desk, and bartenders were the best! I will come back again for sure!! I highly recommend this hotel for the service alone.

The Moxy has been amazing!! The staff are all above and beyond the normal. We were here on a mini vacation to see family and our flight was changed due to bad weather and we needed to stay 3 more days, The Moxy was more than helpful during this hard time for us! We want to say a very BIG TEXAS THANK YOU to the Moxy and their amazing staff! If you want a cool modern updated motel with history stay at the MOXY!! You will not regret it!! This is definitely a grow up hotel. I chose this hotel because we were going to see a concert at the Fox theater. I did have my two children and my niece with me that were ages 16 to 18 years old. The only real complaint that I had was that the lounge was open to the public, and the elevator is out of sight of the staff, and when me and my daughter entered into the elevator, three men jumped in the elevator, trying to access the room floors. When I asked them if they had a room key, they said no, this made me feel very uneasy, and I jumped out of the elevator with my daughter, and proceeded to find a stairwell. Staff or security really needs to stay by the elevator especially since it’s out of sight from front check in. This hotel was a really nice hotel. I will stay here but without my children.

Really like the hotel. Wish we could’ve spent more time there, as we were in town for a wedding and visit with family.

I loved the retro style of the hotel. The layout of the room was fantastic, and the shower was incredible! The staff couldn’t have been nicer, or more helpful. I will recommend the Moxy to my friends and family.

Great stay overall, small issue when we first arrived that our room’s AC didn’t work whatsoever and it was nearly 80 degrees in there & it was very uncomfortable for the first few hours we were there. Same no-AC issue for the other party we were traveling with as well, both rooms being on the second floor. Both our parties both got a free upgrade to a room with working AC on the 7th floor before the night was over, which was especially nice because it had a view. Very modern rooms & nice amenities. Absolutely love the lobby and bar area, very modern & fresh aesthetic that made it an awesome place to have other family members join us there to hang out.
