The patio outside the bar was the perfect location for my family to relax and enjoy one another's company.

This was our fourth or fifth stay at Casa Munras, and we have enjoyed all of them. It is in a special niche between a full-service hotel and a motel-type place. You park near your room and carry your bags, etc. Rooms open to the exterior, not a hallway. There is no valet parking. The prices are lower than the fancier full-service hotels in the area, but the rooms are spacious, the grounds are pretty, and it's within walking distance to downtown. There is a fantastic restaurant and bar (we recommend the margaritas!) and a well-maintained, attractive pool. We always go for a king room with a fireplace, which is super-cozy in cooler weather. (If you are looking for serenity, you might want to ask for a room that is NOT poolside in warm weather.) But if you're traveling with kids, close to the pool is perfect. The place is big enough that you can have choices. We love it here.

Spring break trip with my family to Monterey. Hotel was close to the Aquarium, downtown and Fishermans wharf. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was well maintained and clean. Recommend they invest in a Spa. After a long day it would have been great to relax in a hot spa. There were also no microwaves in the room.

Noisy dogs in adjacent room. Parking is tight if you arrive late in evening. Parking comes with an extra charge. Rooms are nice. Sofa bed not comfortable-for little kids only.

Nice and quiet choice, the pool was average, and not hot tub and there is a day-spa on site, the treatments were good but the facility was also just average and a little overpriced. The hotel rooms were nice, spacious and clean, and cute, it's a great location and close to lots of stuff. It seemed like a good choice too if you want something that's not so loud or closer to the Wharf (but still walkable there) Decent rooms for kids, but the pool is again just average and ranges from 3-9 feet so not super kid friendly for little ones. The rooms are though!

It's always a great stay here, but i requested a downstairs room due to it being difficult to climb stairs after my knee replacements. The upstairs guests were not very considerate. The allowed there child to run and jump in the hallway, as well as run and yell while on the walkway. You may want to opt for upstairs on your visit.
