Colton Inn

The Colton Inn is a simple, no frills stay. We feel very comfortable staying there, and we are picky when it comes to cleanliness. It’s a great place if you’re traveling with kids or friends. We love the walkability. We always had everything we needed without having to ask. Only thing that could be improved upon is the breakfast. Or you can just skip it all together. The breakfast area is so small that it makes it difficult to get what you want, and awkward if you’re not into communing with strangers first thing in the morning. But overall a nice place, especially for the price… we have stayed there 3 times, and will be back.

It is in quiet area but with 10 min walking distance to the downtown through nice neighborhood. The beds were comfortable, the breakfast was good addition to have, the staff was nice and welcoming, the price was reasonable. The only thing we could complain about (if someone insists) is guests above us as their child was jumping from the bed to the floor and that sound was not good on the 1st floor as you can imagine but by 10pm they usually were sleeping and the nights were quiet and calm. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would again.

Charming, lovely staff and walkable to everything. My big family stayed for a wedding and all of the rooms were clean and nice.

Just a beautiful little place. Super convenient location. Large , clean room. Nice amenities - fridge and microwave. Loved staying here with family.

This is a well run family Inn with spacious and comfortable rooms. We were staying in a few places on our road trip and this one stood out because it was so clean. Our room opened onto a patio with a stream running below. There was a bbq for guests use and some chairs and tables. Breakfast was good also. Thanks for a great stay.

Room was clean. I especially like the sink outside the bathroom.very convenient if someone is using the bathroom.you dont have to wait to use it. Hotel is walking distance from cool shops and food. Theres a cool library next door to take the youngsters.

Stayed here for family trip to the aquarium. Restaurants are close by for walkable night out, even with a child.

Our stay was great, the front desk staff on both days were amazing! Will definitely recommend to friends and family.

The room was very moist and humid - carpet and bedsheets were damp to the touch. We had to leave our luggage in the car during our stay so that our clothes did not moist and damaged. We felt really uncomfortable with staying in our room because of this, especially because we were traveling with a baby. When addressing this to the reception after the first night, asking for another room, our concern was simply dismissed/ignored and the excuse was the “cloudy weather this week”. We followed up with the hotel a few days later to try to sort the problem out and and again our concern was not taken seriously and we were “asked to stop calling about this problem”. I unfortunately cannot recommend this place to anyone else traveling based on our experience. The condensation in our room and the poor handling of the concern by the staff overshadowed our entire stay. Find another place to stay in Monterey.
