Monterey Marriott

We had a great time at the Marriott Monterey! The hotel was clean, quiet and in a great location (walkable to great restaurants, Fisherman’s Wharf and the beach). Our kids enjoyed the pool, and the staff were very kind to our kids—when we were unloading upon arrival, our toddler took a tumble and was crying. The hotel manager swooped in with mini stuffed animals for all three of our kids, totally turning the moment around for our toddler and making our kids feel very special and welcome. We would definitely return!

Awesome location, great family pool and hot tub. Nice in house restaurant and bar. My only complaint is that there was a bunch of black hair all over the shower. I asked for it to be cleaned and the trash taken out. Over 3 days no one ever cleaned our room even after I requested it at the front desk. The only convenient parking is valet for $40 a night. It ended up being about $400/nt. For that I think they should have cleaned our room once.

I would like to give a verp special shout out to Joshua at the front desk. He took great care of my family and made out stay amazing. We all work hard and rarely get away. He made our stay very special.

Absolutely love this hotel! Took our toddlers to the beach for the weekend and had the best stay. Super clean, beautiful hotel with kind staff. Walking distance from everything. Will definitely be staying again!

Family stay 2 kids. The property itself was ok. Staff was very kind helpful. But the property I was disappointed compared to other Marriott. I reserved a city view room but got a room with the pool view. Our room #307 was terrible. The furnace kept making loud banging noises throughout the night. Our sink was slow to drain. The body wash bottle holder was broken off when we arrived so it was just sitting on a shelf. No microwave in the room. Also you could hear literally everything from the people at the pools to the passerby’s in the hallway. I was shocked how loud it was which made it hard to get my toddler down to bed and keep him down even with a sound machine. I had debated about asking for a room change but we were staying only 1 night and my husband and 6 year old had already knocked out. I did call in the morning explaining the loudness of the room and ask for an extra hour on checkout bcus it was 10am and my kids were still asleep which they accommodated. Breakfast buffet was nice options were good. Valet parking only which sucks when you’re traveling with small kids bcus we realized we forgot a few things and had to request them to bring the car back up. So yea would I stay here again with a family and small kids probably not.

Overall we enjoyed our stay, the staff were all very pleasant and professional. We were on the pool side and it was loud at night. So if you are looking for a quiet evening and earlier bedtime (we had kids with us) I would request not to be on the pool side of the hotel.

Great property! Super friendly and helpful staff. My husband and I were traveling with our 11 month old and had a great time at this hotel. The best part is that it smells and looks clean, which is a huge plus when traveling with an infant that loves to put everything in his mouth.

This place is not worth the $400 off season to stay at. The building is very old and their walls are paper thin. Literally could hear the guy in the next room clearing his throat and him sounding like he was right there with us in the room. We had a sea view room, but also could hear anything from music, babies crying, to people laughing on the street and we stayed on the 5th floor. Also, the jacuzzi is less than body temp and when asked if they could turn it up they said that was as high as it goes. Definitely not worth the money.

As an active family with energetic kids and two dogs, it is essential for us to feel welcomed, and the staff was excellent in those aspects. I'll gladly come back again!
